Epic’s freebies for this week:

Save 100% on Deponia on Steam
In Deponia, the world has degenerated into a vast garbage dump, in which the crotchety Rufus ekes out his sorry existence.
World Crafter TD is currently free on Steam. Note the first “purchase” clicky in bright green is the Demo version, the free paid version is below that.
Epic’s freebies for this week:
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms
(I believe this is always free - includes in-app purchases)
Very Positively rated Crowalt: Traces of the Lost Colony is available for free on Steam until the 9th. Looks like a Point & Click adventure style game
It’s a 4-year-old game with only 80 reviews, so I’m not sure that the high reviews are particularly meaningful, but it looks interesting enough to me to grab. If nothing else, I bet it’ll play well on my tablet through the Steam app.
Games on luna.amazon.com requires prime membership to claim so not really free. But I’ve had many free months during the years.
Amongst the haul:
Attila Total War: I have Shogun 2, Empire, Three Kingdoms and some of the Warhammer TWs in my backlog. Still this one seems a bit out of the mold and I may actually play it.
Rebel Galaxy outlaw: Elite/Privateer/Freelancer like game. Seems to have more emphasis on shady spaceport bars and opportunities to shoot first, judging from the screenshots.
Tavern Talk: You’re a bartender in a typical RPG tavern. Serve magic drinks and assemble quests from rumours you pick up. Mostly click through lots of servicable dialogue. Will keep playing.
Technotopia: City builder where you must balance resources between four factions. Actually it’s a geometric puzzle game with a pretty but hard to read interface. DNF.
I have Prime. Is it really true I can just setup Luna on my Steamdeck and play whatever they include on Luna?
I wonder if I’m wasting that portion of my subscription.
I can’t use the Luna game streaming service, as it’s not accessible from all countries.
Are your country on the list?

I looked this up, and it’s a prequel game to Rebel Galaxy, which is one of my favorite games of all time. I will absolutely be buying this, why in the
did this fly under my radar?!
I checked and none of those are in Luna.
I believe @Chelonaut is talking about what was called (pre-Luna) Amazon Prime Gaming, where for a “limited” period of time (generally 30-60 days) you can select to claim for free (and keep after cancelling Prime) a number of titles, generally “owned” on Amazon, GOG, or the Epic Store for download.
Is a better link to use. It’s still under the Luna branding, though it didn’t used to be.
I see them there, thanks. They definitely weren’t showing up in the Luna library (which has some really good games).
No problem - yeah, they’ve changed and moved a lot of stuff around. And I have looked at a lot of the Luna games, especially since I have a 65" FireTV and a bluetooth controller to play them with…
Yes, that’s what I meant. In my location the luna top page redirects to the claims page, it didn’t occur to me that it might be different else where. Sorry for the confusion.
You pointed out an awesome game I was able to grab on GOG, so thank you. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, probably tomorrow. But I’m looking forward to it.
I had no idea they made a prequel!
The last time I played Rebel Galaxy I finally made the connection that it is just Sid Meier’s Pirates!… in space.
(This is not a criticism.)

Woah, new necessity unlocked…

The space combat was exactly like sailing ships, slowly turning around to send broadsides of cannons. Except they’re laser cannons and you have some (limited) Z axis movement. But yes, very much “Pirates!” for all the reasons.
So, I’ve been playing Rebel Galaxy Outlaw today. Very, very different game than its predecessor. It is more of an “Elite Dangerous” sort of game… You are a single pilot out for revenge, to take out your husband’s murder. You fly a little ship in first-person dogfights. It has the usual stuff you’d expect; cargo deliveries, bounties, the opportunity to become a pirate, or a freelance pirate hunter, or a trader (or a mix).
The graphics are decent, the space combat is surprisingly casual and friendly; you can actually lock onto a ship and it will automatically match its speed and trajectory so you just have to fine-tune your weapon aiming a bit to hit the target. It’s a pretty laid back game. The atmosphere is very consistent with the previous game, including the music. (I recognize some of my favorite tracks from that, including “Evil Ways”, which was my absolutely favorite from that game.)
Overall a great game to pick up for free. I’m really digging it.
Point-and-Click puzzle adventure classic Deponia is free on Steam until the 16th.
