16th to 20th. Isn’t that 2 weekends from now?
Woops, you’re right. The headline I saw on another site said this weekend, and I didn’t look closely. I suppose this gives you hte time to download the ginormous client.
Yeah I may give it a try, but I wasn’t that impressed by the beta.
Fractured Space is free this weekend AND they say you get to keep it after the weekend. Not sure if that means as long as you never uninstall it you keep it or something else.
It is a 5v5 realtime space battle game. I have no idea if the game is any good but it seems to be getting decent player feedback and since it is free hard to complain.
Arma 3 is on a free weekend on steam. If anyone wants to get it we can try out the multiplayer.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is only $5 this weekend. We still play it regularly, great game.
Edit: Woops, wrong thread. Meant to post this to the deals thread, not the free thread.
All the total war games on steam are on a free weekend as well as a discount.
Depth is having a free weekend on steam. It’s a fun sharks vs divers asymetric multiplayer game.
Race the Sun on steam is free (permanently) if you install it today.
If you’re looking to play Hearthstone but afraid that GabeN will hunt you down for closing Steam, you can now play Magic Duels, a Magic: the Gathering knock-off of the CCCG that’s a knock-off of M:tG. Plays pretty much like the Duel of Planeswalkers M:tG games except you get coins for playing the campaign and then for winning matches which you then use to buy boosters. Deck creation is a lot more open than in the DotP versions as well.
By the time you finish the initial tutorial bit you get a starter box, three boosters and enough coins to buy two more boosters. Boosters are 150 coins ($2 real money if you wanted to go that way) and you get 5 coins for an easy AI match, 10 for medium, 15 for hard and 20 for a matched-opponent live battle. 400 coins per day max. “Quests” for extra coins such as winning three matches with a R/G or B/G deck.
Nice! I’ve been waiting for that to drop on Steam (my ipad can’t run it).
Sid Meier’s Civilization®: Beyond Earth™ free weekend on Steam©.
Ark Survival is having a free weekend on steam.
Killing Floor 2 is up for a free weekend on Steam.
If you are a fan of Left for Dead you will probably like this. It is a different game with little in common but a good metric nonetheless.
Give it a go. It’s free for the next 2.5 days.
I’ve only just played it and at least at the outset it is confusing and I died a few times and generally find it a little bewildering (including how to find a game I want). Still…I had fun and as with many such things there is a bit of a learning curve.
Missed the edit window:
The game is a lot of fun. I am not sure how much longevity it has (e.g. how long you can play it before becoming bored but while it lasts it’s a lot of fun [think Evolve]).
It is still early access for the game but the original Killing Floor kept a consistent following so maybe it will not follow the path of Evolve or Titanfall.
No telling yet but a free weekend is free, the download is like 7GB so not bad at all and it is fun.
Have a go.
Commander And Conquer Red Alert 2 is free on Origin
This one is WELL worth getting.
It is old to be sure but it is iconic and still fun to play. When it is free…why not?
I still pine for the cheesy cut scenes Red Alert pulled off. I miss those.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is free on Steam.
Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee is free on Steam for 24 hours.
Star Wars: Battlefront is in open beta for a few days. It’s available on PC, PS4, and XBone.
Darkest Dungeon and Depth are on sale on Steam this weekend; the former is a roguelike that plays like Final Fantasy, and the latter is a fun asymmetric sharks vs. divers game that I’ve enjoyed playing with some of the gang.
