Don’t tell me it’s ‘around $10,000’ Now I have to go break out the Excel.
Buying everything individually will set you back $12,875.52.
Using the available bundles will get you out the door for only $12,620.60

I realize that they do not expect anyone to buy all the DLC. People who like the game buy a handful of routes/trains they like and that’s it.
It’s still a pretty shocking number.
It needs a serious graphics overhaul though. It looks quite dated.
Fantasy Grounds on Steam has 2,123 DLC. No easy way to see the total value (there’s no Add All to Cart) but the first 200 listed have an average value of $16 a pop, give or take. So that’s perhaps ~$33,968 worth of DLC. If anyone wants to find out the actual number, be my guest.
Like Train Sim, you’re not actually expected to buy it all. In fact, much of it would be redundant since you’d be buying the same campaign sets for Pathfinder, D&D 5e, etc. But I think it wins for sheer dollars of DLC.
You just know that they are losing money at that price…
On a different note, not a lot was given away in Amazon Prime gaming this month. Is it normally a feast and famine thing? I don’t need it to be raining new games (not sure I even wanted the free games I got but they had value, so worth it), just trying to adjust expectations as to if and when I cancel my monthly subscription or keep it going for some more. It’s the main reason I’m keeping Prime at the moment.
Also Windbound is on Epic this week, which looks so much like a Zelda : Windwalker clone, but I guess that’s kind of a good thing to clone.
Amazon used to only have smaller indie games in its free games options (and they were downloaded from Amazon). The months of more AAA titles and offering Epic/Origin/GOG client titles is fairly new and it’s hard to tell if this month was a one-off weak month or a return to the original baseline.
Dear Esther is free for the next 48hrs from Steam
When I went to Steam and typed “Dear” into the search window it also showed me this game was free:
I have no clue what it is but…free.
It’s one of countless free games on Steam that are always free. The game is described as:
“A romance/mystery visual novel set in 1930s Scotland, told through a letter correspondence.”
It has “very positive” reviews based on 132 scores.
But this thread is for games that are not normally free, and are offered for free for a limited time, to notify people about the opportunity. Steam has an entire section games that are always free:
If you want always free games, you can start there. Most are not going to be very good, but some might be enjoyable.
Epic: Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons
A bit of puzzle solving. A bit of battle.
Brothers is a fun game. Well worth getting (I do not know why everyone doesn’t hoover up all free games but to each their own…this one is worth it though…I think). Short and sweet.

No extra steps for me.
Plunder Panic is currently free on Steam
The following is NOT free
I am putting it here because, while not free, I think it is such a good deal it is worth listing here.
Humble Bundle is offering a Sid Meier’s game bundle for $15 (or less for fewer games).
They claim it is worth $471. Among other things you get Civ III, IV, V and VI along with a lot of DLC and some other games.
i wish they’d let you pick what you wanted … I have all of it but 5 things which I just bought so ill post the titles I don’t want in a and just msg me if ya want any …funny I think I have all of his games but the golf one … although for some reason no one will sell civ 1 and 2 (my fave)
I don’t think they run on Windows 10.
Or rather, they maybe can run but you have to go to extra lengths to make it work…so much so that I doubt anyone wants to sell it and deal with the hassle of thousands of buyers complaining that it does not work.
They are ‘abandonware’, that’s why you can’t buy them.
But you can easily download them and play them in DosBox.
There are also places where you can play them in your browser, but then you may have problems saving a game.
