Free PC Game Offers

A couple offers for free PC games came out today. Note that they involve varying amount of hoop-jumping.

(1) Frozen Hearth for Steam is available through IndieGala. You’ll need to have a Steam account and join the IndieGala Steam group. Joining a Steam group is about the Steam equivalent of liking a page on Facebook – you just do it and forget about it, for the most part (unless, of course, it’s a group you actually decide to actively follow). Here’s the Steam store page for Frozen Hearth is if you want to see what it is since the promo page doesn’t really tell you much.

(2) Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger is free from Origin until September 2nd. You will need an Origin account to play this game although you can claim it through the web site and tie it to your account without actually launching Origin or installing it this very moment.

(3) Space Hack is free for less than 24 hours on Steam. Simply clicking “Play Game” will add it to your Steam account. You don’t actually need to download or play it today.

Broforce, a retro-side scrolling shooter with updated stuff like fully destructible environments has a tie-in with Expendables 3 (the film) to make a free stand-alone game: Expendabros. Half film promo, half game demo but the reviews say it’s good fun. Available for free until December 31st.

Edit: Also, they’re having trouble with the Frozen Hearth keys at the moment but are working on the issue.

All the game does is crash to desktop. Anyone know how to get it to work?
