Fremont BART station

Looks like I will be having an assignment up in the East Bay for a while, but they tell me it is right off BART. So I could drive to Fremont and then BART. Anyone have any experience of what it is like to park there, etc?

I have no idea. But I’m posting from Fremont right now. AND I’m staying at a Holiday Inn Express. So there!

I also have no idea. But, I was on the BART website for a bit earlier today checking out the Richmond Station parking situation (because Ohmygod I’ll be taking it to the Oracle Arena tomorrow to see The Boss!!!) They’ve got some decent maps of the parking areas - Here’s Fremont’s. Couldn’t tell you how much the fee is, or how crowded it is, or really anything helpful at all though. Sorry!

Well I’ll tell you this: get there early to get a space, and obey the bleeping signs when you park. The only parking ticket I’ve had in the last . . . 35 years was at the Fremont Bart station.

Yes, it gets full early. I haven’t parked there in a while, but they are going to start charging (or have already started) which it was claimed would make it less crowded. I have no idea if it did so. The rules seemed very complicated when I read them in the paper, but actually doing it would be easier.

ETA: It sounds like we could have a Fremont Dopefest.

BART is dead to me.

Tell me more. How early is early? How much does it cost?

Why?

They’re charging a dollar a day for parking on weekdays - how it works is you park and note the space number. In the station, you pay a buck to the validation machine - either with a dollar bill or off your ticket.

When will you be going there? My recollection is the lot is filled by 8 AM, but there are “mid-day” spaces that are off-limits until 10 AM.

I parked there once to go to an A’s game, around six p.m. on a weeknight and there was ample parking- don’t know about during the day though.

A buck? That’s fine. Likely early in the morn, maybe 7:30ish?

We’re already having one in San Francisco. Let’s not go splitting into factions.
