The current kerfuffle about the “Christmas Tree” sculpture at the Place Vendome has included photos of not only the “Christmas Tree” but the Place itself, and where the Vendome Column should be looks an awful lot like the box it came in. It’s either a building with pictures of the column on it or some sort of rigid cover, as if they’re doing renovations or repairs on it. Any of our French Dopers know what’s going on there?
