There is an area of southern Mississippi near the Louisiana border where French dressing is served on pizza. Even the local Pizza Hut asks if you’d like French dressing with your pizza.
What is up with this? Does anyone know how this started, or if there are any other regions where this is popular?
I’ve heard they like raw egg in their coffee, too! A friend of mine is originally from that region of the counrty. She confirms it. I’ll ask about the pizza, now! My father owns a pizza shop outside of Philly. Once, someone asked him to make a pizza with ketchup, instead of sauce. He refused on the grounds that it was sacrilige.
Mrs. Miatachris does this all the time, she’s from the MS gulf coast. It truly makes my stomach churn. We’ve been in more than one pizza place on the coast where French dressing was already on the table. Yes, the bright red stuff. Blech.
