This episode was more like the FNL I know and love. I was okay with the crowd cheering Lance, er, Landry. They’re probably tired of cheering Smash and Saracen, and Landry’s an underdog, so it’s natural the crowd will like him. At least this once.
I rolled my eyes at Jason doing his Lieutenant Dan impression, but it wasn’t all that unbelievable.
I like where they’re going with Tyra and Landry and the dead guy, even though I don’t like that it happened in the first place.
This was the only episode so far this season that a first-time viewer might appreciate. The others have been a bit too soapy.
As much as I hate resurecting a thread, it appears that this show doesn’t have enough of a following here to warrant a separate thread for each episode. So here we go again…
I like the whole “convict gets a 2nd chance at life” story line.
I really hate the new “Coach’s daughter bangs a teacher” story line. When she referred to him by his first name, I wasn’t sure who I wanted to punch.
Why can’t Riggins just go home? First of all, you need to get over it. Second of all, she’s probably gone home by now. Which begs another question: Why can’t his brother and ex-woman keep their relationship over at her house? No need to rub his face in it.
I need to think about Julie and the teacher. She could be crushing on him, or maybe she’s just appreciating the positive attention from someone she admires. How many Dillon teachers went to the Columbia School of Journalism? Actually, that makes me wonder what he’s doing in Dillon.
It was cool to see Lyla and Tyra bury the hatchet, without even talking about it.
I was disappointed in Coach Taylor – Smash needs more than a “Don’t take gifts” talk from him, especially after telling him how great he is. But Smash going to Whitmore (Whitman?) would be quite a turnaround, and unbelievable. All we’ve seen from Smash is how badly he wants to play pro ball.
I liked this episode, except for Matt and the nurse.
