Craig’s list is the most active phishing hole in the entire internet world. All they really want is any information to add to her email address.
Consider Craig’s list to be a leper colony, where everyone also has AIDS, and Hepatitis, and are all either dupes of mass murderers, or studying to become mass murderers.

Well, duh. But what should she do?
Click options>Spam and set up the Yahoo account to block messages from noreply@ craigslist.org
Assuming, of course, that that address isn’t used for something else. I’m not exactly sure why it exists at all–don’t you have to use a real email to contact someone, so they know how to contact you back?
It’s quite common for automated emails to originate from a nonexistent mailbox (which may be nothing more than an alias on the mail server that redirects everything to a null device or something, or may not actually exist at all)
Proper validation of sender identity would take a massive bite out of the volume of spam circulating on the internet, but it’s hard to implement across the board.
You have a point though - if the OP’s friend does actually wish to receive non-spam messages from Craigslist, then it’s a bit more tricky a problem.
Stop providing an email address in her ads, for one, or use a gmail or yahoo address that is only for CL. The email you provide to CL is anonymous until you reply to someone making an inquiry. Once they have your email address from the return message, the spam starts. I only provide a phone number. If you’re too lazy to call me, you’re not really interested.
Is that Maxima low mileage? I can send a check for the total, plus money that my driver will need to be given to drive the car to my location.
Likely this has nothing to do with your friend giving her address on CL.
The text of the email is what you get when you post an ad on CL. I’m guessing that someone is posting to CL using her email address. Click on the ad and you’ll see it’s some car dealer. He lists his email as brockethan5@gmail.com. Contact him and tell him to stop.
He’s likely using some automated CL posting program that puts some random email address in when it posts the ad. Unfortunately, your friend is the unlucky person who matched that email address.
