I posted an ad on craigslist and now someone is spamming from my email everyone that has emailed me to go to this site. I’m not positive that the two things are related, but I think that they are. Is there anyway to fix this?
The best thing to do is use a separate email account for such things as CL. Don’t keep addresses in this account.
Your situation may or may not be related to the said posting. Hotmail and Yahoo have had hackers gain access to their address books several times in recent years. Threads here have discussed that issue. They generally have been using the addresses and faking the headers to look like it’s coming from your email directly. This can easily be checked by analyzing the mail headers and finding that the source is not Yahoo or Hotmail or whatever. In such cases, they continue to use the account.
