So sad for your heartbreak but glad you two found each other.
Some of these pet loss stories just break my heart. The greater the love, the greater the loss.
Thanks for sharing your story with us and your life with Fiona. She sounds like a wonderful cat, scooped up by just the right people at just the right time.
It should always be that way.
May your grief be mercifully brief, but may your memories be sweet and everlasting.

I know exactly how you feel, Spoons. I lost my sweet Rocky, age 15, just last Friday. I’m so sorry for your loss.

This was during her “I’m going to claim Spoons’ La-Z-Boy recliner as my own” phase last year, which resulted in a lot of my sports team scarves being covered in cat hair. And me being relegated to another chair.
And more apologies: it was her left ear that was lost to frostbite.
What a beautiful and very sad and poignant story. It made me tear up. My condolences and best wishes go out to you, but you will always have memories of a wonderfully joyous life with her.
