Loosing my Jetta! [cat]

Jetta is my black short hair polydactyl cat A.K.A. a Hemingway cat. She is 5 1/2 years old and we are loosing her to kidney failure. She is my 95 cent cat. Our humane society took in a hundred cats from a hoarder and was trying to clear up some space so they announced a weekend adoption for 95 cents for any adult cat. My spouse Czarcasm picked her out out of many. She became my cat. She would sleep and snuggle and constant purr around my face and neck. She has peridot green eyes and a very tiny white patch on her chest. She has 26 toes, 14 in front 12 in back, when she walked it looked like she has opposable thumbs. She is a treat whore! and will only eat dry food. Today we will be sending her over the rainbow bridge to be with all who have gone before.:frowning:

I am so sorry to hear that. I have lost a couple cats to kidney failure as well.

Tonight she will rest on a bed of catnip.
And I will not sleep.

Sounds like she’s repaid her cost a thousand-fold. May you find some comfort in your fondest memories.

My condolences. I’ve posted in the past regarding having pets/cats euthenized with some hopefully useful pointers. Maybe do a search with my username and “cat” to find them. Wish I could link them myself but too busy/incompetent/disorganized to so so right now.

Again, condolences.

So sorry, folks. A hard thing, but the right choice.

I’m so sorry to hear about Jetta . . . she must be a beautiful kitty. You’ve given her a wonderful, loving home (wish we had a huggy icon to put here).

I’ve also lost a few cats to kidney failure, it seems to be a rather common terminal feline disease.

Our little skitty kitty-Jetta.

That sucks. My condolences to both of you. Sounds like she had a great post-adoption life with you, and it’s not fair it was too short.

That’s terrible. I’m really sorry for your loss. I love cats and it’s always wrenching when one passes, especially when they are young. My condolences.

Beautiful. Look at all those toesies!

Monochrome kitties are some the best.

Damn, now there is something in my eye.

My sympathies for the loss of your Jetta. I am truly sorry.

I have edited your topic title to make it clear you’re losing your cat and not just a car, as I’m thinking it’s a bit more hard and depressing to lose the former and wanted other posters to know it in case any “readers-of-just-the-title” might think you were talking about a car.
As a poster:
I’m sorry about your cat. :frowning:

I know how you feel all too well. My cat, Raffy, is also on the way out. She’ll probably get put down tomorrow. She’s twenty years old and had a damn good life.

I’ve lost cats before myself, and it never gets easier, but the pain does lessen a little bit over time. You have my sincerest condolences.

Oh no. I am crying a bit myself. My condolences. I have lost 3 cats to kidney failure over the years. I hope it’s something that veterinary science learns more about as we move forward. Jetta was very young. I am very sorry for your loss.

Oh, no. What a beauty. I’m so sorry Rahne McCloud and Czarcasm. I’ve loved and lost quite a few cats and kidney failure is the worst. :frowning:

We just got back from the pet hospital. They brought her in for our last visit, then we comforted her as she went to sleep…and as she went.
She is no longer in pain.

She’s a beauty, and you did right by her.

It’s so hard to see them go. I’m sorry.
