Frimps

I’ve heard the “word” frimps substituted for at least two real words.

Have you?

Want to guess the words I think were intended when frimps was used?

No? Then make up some of your own.

Can’t say I’ve ever heard it in any context.

Fried shrimp?

Frumpy wimp.

That’s one of them. Even unfried shrimps on at least one occasion.

That’s one I will use, but you invented it as far as I can tell. Good one!

Friendly chimps?

I like it, but that’s a new one for me.

Here’s a clue to the second one: salad

I’ve heard frimps for fake (or faux) shrimps, like krab for fake crab.

Yeah, I’d assume it meant some kind of mock-shrimp.

(Which is particularly interesting to me right now, because I ate some seaweed yesterday that tasted like shrimp)

The other substitution of “frimps” that I heard somebody use was for French dressing. Obviously the person had only misheard it, and had either never seen it in print or was unable to make out the difference.

Thanks for playing!
