"Fringe" question

I’m a newbie Fringe watcher. I saw all of Season 1, thanks to their recent marathon. Now their showing episodes from Season 2. I’m just watching them in the order in which they’re shown, along with new ones.

My question is: Should the episodes be seen in the correct order? Except for the very early ones, in which certain facts had to be established, there doesn’t seem to be any continuity from one ep to the next. Is that true?

Another Fringe fan! One of us! One of us!

You’ll want to watch them in order. While Fringe can be episodic at times, there is a certain continuity. By the 5th (and final) season, there is an overall story arc (saving the world) that gets built on every week. If you miss an episode, it gets a bit tricky, particularly once you start losing characters. (Yeah, people die. I won’t spoil you on who so far.

Enjoy!

Another Newbie here. I’m a couple of episodes into season 2.

I’ll tell you now. I am very, very afraid the writers are making it up as they go along, like Lost.

Please say it ain’t so.

They may have been making it up as the went along but it worked better for them than it did for the “Lost” writers.

Those of us who are caught up are anxiously awaiting the final three episodes of the series in January. Will it reach a satisfactory conclusion? Fingers crossed.

The show becomes pretty heavily serialized fairly quickly. Many of the season 1 events become tied into a larger story in subsequent seasons. I’d say you should definitely watch the show in correct order, especially from about the middle of season 2 and onward.

*Fringe *has been MUCH better than *Lost *at explaining its own questions in a timely manner and telling a complete story.

Yes, watch them in order. By the way, season 3 is the lowest point, but 4 and 5 have been a lot better.

Even so, all of it is really good.

For what it’s worth, I would be EXTREMELY surprised if Fringe pulls a Lost-sort of ending. The way it’s going now, I’m not sure how they could, unless they do a timeline-reset (always a valid fear with some series).

I’ve been enjoying it so far, and I will definitely miss it once it’s gone. :frowning:

Thats already been implied in the previews as to being exactly what they do.

At this poiint I’m just hoping the ‘how’ they get there is worth it.

Simster, you may be right.

Didn’t Walter say in one of the early tapes (Season 5) that “You must accept the reversibility of all phenomena”?

So far, Season 5 has been worth it, thankfully.
