Irishman–I agree with the sentiments that you expressed in the OP. You’re not alone.

But I think you’ve gone a bit overboard with the “nobody loves me, everybody hates me, I’m gonna eat some worms” shtick.

Plus, as soon as you invoke the “it’s just a rant, and this is the pit!” argument, you automatically lose the debate. Yeah, this isn’t GD, but we do have debates here. It’s like Gaudere’s Law or something–as soon as you say “it’s just a rant,” then you have shown that you can’t back up your side of the debate.

Hey Irishman! I know what you mean. Heinlein once said “…religion, like dandruff, is something most people have. They spend time and money on it and derive considerable pleasure from fiddling with it.” Most people are religious and they tend to lump us all into that category. They cannot make an announcement that includes all of us, so they go with “the right thing to say”. Be strong now and lend your support through blood donations or a charitable contribution. :smiley:
