I’m mostly forcing myself through OUAK out of bitterness at being burned on Republic: The Revolution, which supposedly was a great political strategy game in which you try to seize control of a breakaway Russian republic. Instead, it was abject crap. Despite OUAK’s flaws, it’s better than R:tR.
Devil Whiskey is probably not going to be interesting to you unless you played the Bard’s Tale ~20 years ago, and want to play the exact same type of game again. And I do mean exact; the developers have taken pains to implement the 1985-era interface as best they could. (And 1985-era bugs – you can cast STWA, Stone Wall, repeatedly and gain a -4 bonus to your AC each time. I sent in a bug report and asked if that was a result of slavish dedication to the original engine, or if it was just overlooked.)
Speaking of Liesure Suit Larry (the first PC game I ever played) has anyone seen the preview for Lula 3D? I hadn’t even heard of the Lula title before but damn, that preview clip is HILARIOUS. God I just about choked laughing.
