I often see threads talking about articles I’ve not read yet, but appear on the www.straightdope.com front page within 24 hours of me reading about it.
Am I just being daft or is there another way to get at these articles that I’m missing out on?
Yep, try signing up to the mailing list.
Oh, I thought that had stopped. I was signed up and one day they stopped coming through. I’ll put my email address in again then!

Joke-a-Day administers our weekly Straight Dope mailing for us.
They had some serious server problems and the mailing didn’t happen for a few weeks while they got their stuff straightened out.
They’re back up and the mailings have returned.
If you registered earlier you need do nothing, you should be seeing the mailing every Friday morning. (Check your spam filter if you’re not seeing it.)

Thanks TubaDiva but I think it’s sorted now. I entered my address again and got a confirmation email, so it seems I got lost before, possibly when they shut down the internet for a day or two for the bots to “clean the internet out”. I’m sure I got an email about that a while back.
