Frost/Nixon

Saw it tonight, and while it was pretty good, I was actually a bit disappointed. I didn’t like the device with the retrospective interviews, and I wasn’t as drawn into the goal of really nailing down Nixon as I guess I should have been. I suppose it will resonate more strongly with someone older who lived through the period and has strong feelings about the guy. (I’m not terribly informed about his presidency, I have to admit, though I have read “All the President’s Men” and know some basics of his biography.)

Anyone else see it?

P.S. – Why on EARTH was this movie rated “R”?? There is no violence, some swearing (but no worse than you’d see in a primetime drama), and no sex (aside from one brief, long-distance, non-sexual shot of a male backside). There aren’t even any “adult themes,” at least not ones that you should protect your kids from. I can’t understand it at all.
