I put a frozen turkey breast in the frig (not the freezer) about a week ago and forgot it until now. I"m sure that it took a few days to thaw out but it has been in the frig for almost a week. Is it safe to cook and eat?? It is still in the original wrap that it came with.
How big is it? If it’s big enough that it took 2 days or so to thaw in the fridge, I’d be comfortable eating it.
I would think it should be fine. I put my Thanksgiving turkey in the fridge to thaw the Saturday before the holiday, and it was still a bit frozen when I put it in the brine Wednesday night.
Air ya dead yet?
If it smells fine, it probably is.
Nope! Not dead yet. I do believe that I will survive! The trukey was great.
In a little article on gifts for the home, I saw a blurb about a meter you can point at food in the fridge, and which somehow does a gas or bacteria count to see if it is still good. It’s about $90. I can look for it if anyone is interested,
