Where could I find a database listing FTP’s/ FTP finder Search engines/etc?
You can try here. It’s the latest incarnation of an FTPSearch utility I used aeons ago. I won’t vouch for its usefulness nowadays. I’m not sure how they build their index, but I imagine all of the bigger archives will be on there (ibiblio, sunsite, etc). I used to use it to find those *!@#ing runtime libraries that you always needed for little dinky shareware programs and that lots of people forgot to bundle with them.
On the Macintosh, Anarchie is popular. (Actually I think it’s called Interarchy nowadays).
