Bluelight.com seems to be buying out the few free ISPs that we have access too out here. Without warning, 1stup.com went out of business and FreeLane withdrew service to Canada (and Macintosh users) leaving us all high and dry here. Well fuck them.

Actually, I believe Bluelight was the savior who bought out their failed supplier Spinway. They didn’t want to lose the Christmas business from all those free CD-Roms they handed out in stores.
After Christmas, they may pull the plug.
But try more names on the list above. There’s always somebody who wants to lose money to gain market share.
I think DotNow!, FriendlyWeb and NetZero are still active, among others.

–Yep! Spinway pulled the plug Dec. 1. And Bluelight (a subsidiary of K-Mart) suddenly discovered that it was sending shoppers to it’s competitors. This dog ain’t gonna hunt after the New Year.
