Oh great !!! Many thanks. Going to surf through each of these.
Wikipedia says that it’s owned by the Central Propaganda Department of the Chinese Communist Party. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but one should be aware when reading it.
I’ve been trying Brave for a couple of days now, though I’m still getting used to the differences between it and Chrome. I was happily using Chrome with the uBlock Origin ad blocker but since Chrome stopped allowing it, was using uBlock Origin Lite. However, Hearst newspaper sites prevented me from reading articles, complaining that my ad blocker was on. (Weirdly, they didn’t do this with uBlock Origin.) But so far I’m able to read the newspapers in Brave without problems.
I have a subscription to a newspaper, the St Louis Post Dispatch, the Atlantic Monthly, and I can read the New Yorker through Hoopla, library app, as well as look at the New York Times and WSJ (at library). I know what you mean, I grew up reading magazines and newspapers, and it often feels surreal reading stuff on a screen. I question the validity of the articles. The screen seems too mesmerizing. But I know it is just my imagination playing tricks on me! Just call me old.
To keep on topic, a friend of mine (an American conservative, never Trumper, evangelical Christian, voted for Hilary and Kamala and Biden) likes Al Jazeera (online). I have read it a few times, and if you want Mideast news, it seems the one to read.
I should have added Al Jezeera …they swiped a few very good Canadian Journos when they started up and find it a decent feed.
For the leftists ( i’m center left )

I live in NYC. There are not many newspaper boxes around any more. A few years ago, I opened up one that was filled with this paper.
Just the most obvious propaganda. Gack. I read about 5 pages, threw it out. I am aware that the act of throwing it out was tracked and captured by a Low Earth Orbit satellite owned by China and since then about 92% of my actions have been tracked and recorded and I deeply apologize for throwing it and and please stop watching me. ![]()
