Fuck Harry Reid!

Maybe they worked, and maybe they didn’t. Most likely not. It’s a complete myth that most people get rich by working. Be that as it may, the person inheriting the money didn’t earn it. It’s just a windfall.

This is actually all true, even though you’re trying to be sarcastic.

Well, for starters you can pay for your own Godammed war instead of pawning the bill off on my kids. 50% of your income for the next 10 years, in addition to regular taxes, out to start to come close to starting to cover the actual and opportunity costs of your little ‘adventure in Iraq’.

Anyway, getting back on topic, thjis isn’t a jobs bill, it’s a tax give away to greedy, rich cocksuckers with some minor jobs creation addendums stuck in there.

Oh kiss my ass. You conservatives talk a good name but every time you take the wheel you drive us into a ditch. The current estate tax situation is a complete mess. You conservatives managed to get rid of it for a cou[le of years, but were too stupid to see that without the estate tax in place many inheretors will pay MORE in taxes because the basis of capital assets will not be changed. I’m not sure if you guys are just stupid or are being disingenuous.

You have spme asshole in Alabama holding up appointees while he pimps for defense dollars being spent on his pet projects. The soldiers killed because he thinks he knows more about how the military should spend their money than they do will be on his head. At that same time he wants to add on to the massive Republican deficits he’s whining about the Democrat’s spending. Now I know you trailer park types are too misinformed to notice, but these guys are laughing at you. “Hey, let’s spend more, make taxes on the middle class worse, fuck up healthcare, and see if we can make the Bubbas think we are helping them. We’ll just make them afraid of niggers and fags and we can do anything we want”. You guys are pathetic.

George W. Bush.

If I died tomorrow, my estate would be worth somewhere slightly north of $1M. I worked damned hard for 40 years to position myself for retirement. The thought of the government taking 55% of that just fries my ass.

Here, let me be more specific, so you can be:

They’re not going to take it before you die, and you wouldn’t have been able to amass it without the help of the government anyway.

Sorry, I mistook you for someone who had something to contribute. My mistake.

I love that you guys think that the major problem facing the country is that the rich pay too much in taxes. Not the deficit, healthcare, national security, civil rights, or jobs. If you look at the ACTUAL FACTS you will see that you policies have made things worse every time you tried them. Everyone makes mistakes, but it takes a conservative to make the same one over and over and over. The previous administration turned surpluses into deficits, let people fly planes into buildings, made New Orleans suffer while the head of FEMA ate at expensive restaurants and obsessed over his clothes, and then started a war that has cost billions, killed thousand of our finest, and has made our national security worse. Even if we graded on a curve we’d have to transport you on the short bus to the Republican Convention. Really, how stupid do you have to be to keep doing the same shit? Look shiny keys, niggers, fags.

What we had under Eisenhower would work for me. That’s all you’re going to get. I’m not going to get into a picayune pissing contest over precise graduations.

Let me put it this way. I’m pretty much a socialist. Going back to Eisenhower would be a compromise for me. I think there should be a cap on personal wealth altogether.

Yes, it is earned income. And it has already been taxed as it was earned by the person doing the bequeathing. An inheritance tax is nothing but a double-dip by the government and should be eliminated entirely.

But they won’t. Do you even have the smallest clue as to how marginal rates work? Do you know that without the current estate tax laws in place the people inheriting your estate will pay MORE in taxes? If you are this misinformed maybe you shouldn’t offer an opinion.

No, no, no. It is not already taxed in many cases. Capital gains will not have been taxed at all. I’m sorry, the facts are not on your side.

Are you really, really going to contend that the value of an estate does not appreciate over time, and that there are not significant unrealized capital gains?

Can you provide any sort of a cite for that?

Let’s see, before we get to the estate tax we have sales tax, state and federal income tax, property tax (my personal favorite), capital gains tax and I’m sure that I’m missing a few along the way.
I’ll admit that I don’t know what constitutes an estate but if it includes all assets then I could easily be taxed as rich when I retire in 20 or so years…hahaha, what a fucking joke.

I’ve never understood why working class conservatives have such slavering adoration for the billionaires who constantly fuck them over. It’s like some kind of collective Stockholm Syndrome. The really ironic thing is that it runs so counter to the sentiments of what most of them claim as their own scriptural doctrines. Jesus exoriated the rich, despised the pursuit of wealth and said that rich people can’t go to Heaven. He also said to pay your taxes, even if you think the taxes are unfair.

Again, if we eliminated the Estate tax you may pay more in taxes because the basis on capital gains will not be reset. For you conservatives I’ll put it this way: more > less.
