. . . so, I’m hanging around, hoping history repeats itself. When it does, I’ll be there to take the nomination.
She has lost it.
Even putting the RFK reference aside, there is a significant difference between the 1992 primary season and the 2008 primary season, namely that there hasn’t been a California-level primary since California! And that was on Super Tuesday this year, in early February.
It’s one thing to say “Wait until June” when there are 300+ delegates still at stake. It’s another thing entirely to say “Wait until June” when there are less than 100 and your opponent leads you by 159.
Y’know, people have been saying she’s going to drag this mess into the convention, but if the above really is her justification, then she’ll be making noise from the sidelines until the election.
She’ll be at the inauguration trying to wrestle the microphone away from him.
I think this will sink her. Couple the outrageousness of tacitly hoping your opponent gets offed so you can grab the nom with the upcoming 40th anniversary of Bobby’s assassination AND Ted Kennedy just having been diagnosed with a horribly lethal brain tumor and you have an unforgivable crossing of lines.

Ftr, I have raised the assasination issue on these boards, but that was in concerns of possible situations, one being her as VP*. She raises the issue, but openly calls it an opportunity for her. For fucks sake what is wrong with her?

True. Questions of tact and taste aside, she’s basically admitting the only reason she’s hanging around is the hope she’ll get the nomination by default.
No kidding. Clinton’s whole “every vote counts” schtick is getting pretty old. Early on, when she thought she was a foregone conclusion, she couldn’t have cared less about “every vote”. But now that she’s desperate…

At the rate she’s burning bridges, I wonder how much influence she’ll be allowed to keep in the Senate, given that as a second-term Senator a lot of her influential positions were gifts from the Dems because she was seen as so powerful and so good for the party.
