(venting over. Thankyou Barbque Pit for letting me do that. ahhhh)
Oh dear. I apologise if that post stretching sentence messes with people’s browsers.
Brace yourselves for more venting folks - I have just switched sites. Now I am getting geocities popups every time I click a link.
Got a pop-up killer prog, Lobsang? Mine works with Angelfire and Geocities.
Oh, and bravo on th’ rant – describes what goes through my head when I meet a wall of those perishing ads …
Now, THAT was freakin’ funny!!
/Hi-jack
NutWrench, I just checked out that link, whats (http) and (ftp) mean ?
Will it work for those baloon pop-ups like: “there’s an update for Mshield.”
Is it similar to Ad-Aware?
If you have Windows XP or 2000 this page will stop the pop ups. Just follow the directions and it should work, it got rid of all the damned infernal ads I was getting every 5 minutes.
Well I don’t think they are that bad. Of course I work for X-10, but still.
<D&R>
Or download a browser that lets you control popups. Opera works nicely for me on Windows, and Mozilla on Linux.
Or even Mozilla on Windows, or Opera on Linux.
Basically, anything but MSIE.
Er, yes. Just because I use them in that order doesn’t mean you have to.
You need the Proximitrion, foundhere
It works great with killing ads.

Popups? What are they?
Thank you very much Opera.
You still get popups? How very 20th Century!
Tell 'em, folks. Dump MSIE and use a real browser instead a camouflaged security hole.
I dont get Ad pop-ups, I’m still wondering aboot stopping those infernal baloon pop-ups that read :* “XX is now connected”* when I dial-up. Or “Downloads are now ready for Mshield”
I can’t believe that pop-up ads still exist. I also can’t believe that people still have to deal with them.
I’ve been using Mozilla for so long that I had forgotten all about them. I haven’t seen one in years. Even if you still want to/have to use IE you can avoid 'em from what I understand - I’ve honestly only used IE to check web site compatibility and to run Windows Update.
