Time for my regular popup rant. (warning - big red swearwords)

FUCK… OFF… POPUPS!!!

Now it is just a waiting game until the next rant.

Can anyone recomend a browser that is:

  1. Free

-and-

  1. Not as open to Popups as IE?

Pop Up Stopper. Live it, love it.

I use it at home. I haven’t seen a popup in months.

The only time I use IE is for some stupid sites (like my bank) that are IE only.

Netscape 7 – not a popup in months.

Mozilla/Firebird It’s a stripped down version of Mozilla and just as fast as Opera. It has tons of plugins and themes.

I just downloaded Opera yesterday and am giving it an audition - so far, no problems…and no popups.

I’m fond of MyIE2 - I switch between it and Opera 6.06* for my browsing.

*I’ve been having major issues with the later versions of Opera, so decided to go back to an earlier version.

I’ve set Opera to only open pop-ups if I actually click on a pop-up link. (They can have their uses, after all.)

Opera 7 also comes with a built-in stylesheet that will hide a lot of the standard-sized advertising on Web pages.

I use Pop-Up Stopper, too. Very useful. It catches 99 3/4% of pop-ups with the Ctrl key as an overide. It’s a free download and I’ve had no problem with it.

Pop-ups suck.

Heh, for the last year or so I’ve been switching my pop up stopper off if i wanted a second session :smack: …

Thanks for the ctrl override tip japatlgt

Popups? What are those? Some kind of IE-only feature that I can’t get in Firebird?

I can’t remember them myself. Safari has spoiled me.
