Fuck Ray Rice.

And then later, married him.

Plus, he apologized for disrespecting the Bing.

Yeah, he’s a real man. Pisses me off that they are trying to point at the NFL for this prick’s criminal act. Pisses me off that they might let him play again without at least a million hours of anger management classes.

Lots of beaten women stay with violent cunts. It’s not for me to judge their poor decisions / dependency issues. I feel very comfortable judging a violent cunt who beats another human being with such ease though. YMMV.

Some people, not too many thankfully, will argue that Ray Rice isn’t a piece of shit. However, if you are upset about this story dragging into the start of the season, that blame can be place squarely at the feet of Roger Goodell.

But while we are here fuck the attitude that says ‘he is a good footballer, somebody will sign him’. Rice, and others like him, should lose the privilege of playing in the NFL.

I’ve never met Janay so I have no idea what she is like or her motivations behind sticking with this punk. Ray’s a thug, no doubt. But staying with this clown much less getting deeper and deciding to have and hold really looks messed up.

If you think this is the first time he hit her you’re very naive.

If she leaves him now, she hits him where it hurts, in the wallet. Maybe she’s dumb like a fox.

Well, not necessarily. Virtually all of Rice’s income was earned prior to the marriage, so it’s unlikely to be subject to equitable distribution.

Yup.

To clarify my position on this as I’m sick of hearing people talk about her staying as if it makes a difference (not necessarily talking about anyone in this thread BTW)

Blame on 1st hit : Beater = 100% : Beaten partner 0%

Blame on 2nd hit : Beater = 100% : Beaten partner 0%

Blame on 3rd hit : Beater = 100% : Beaten partner 0%

an on …

I don’t care that the person could have left and didn’t. I have no way in knowing their circumstances or mind set. If you feel that you need to hit your partner you leave the relationship or do something else. Once you assault someone you are wrong wrong wrong, no if, buts or maybe. This form of violence has no place in a civilised society and the actions of the fuckers who do it should not be justified to any degree by the actions of another.

Not that I’m in any position to judge, but I have less sympathy for an abused partner who stays after the first punch than I do for one who stays after the third or fourth or twentieth.

Sympathy I can see.

How about blame?

Fair distinction. No blame for either. 100% on the beater (making allowances for what I assume are a minority of such relationships where both partners are abusive.)

What industries/jobs has he not lost the right to be a part of? The guy is scum, and I’m not trying to argue that the NFL shouldn’t kick him out, but it just dawned on me that people that are calling for his firing are essentially saying he shouldn’t ever be allowed to hold another job ever again. But maybe they are saying he should lose his NFL job just because the NFL is supposed to be only for role models. As in, won’t somebody think of the children?! If he were a wife beater and worked for the police, should he be fired? What about as a janitor? What company do you think it is okay for them to keep wife beaters around?

I’ve seen such a couple. Pair of sloppy drunken fucks who went at each other in equal measure. Nightmare and something I just stayed away from.

Now you can like long-grained rice and you can like short-grained rice and you can like white rice and you can like brown rice and you can like Spanish rice and you can like wild rice but you doesn’t have to like Ray Rice.
(and you doesn’t have to call me Johnson)

He’s got a future in speaking at battered spouse conferences.

Worked for Michael Vick.

Jailhouse. Serve his time, we can revisit this.

Clearly I do not make Legal decisions in the fine state of New Jersey, but I am of the opinion that if you beat people up,let alone the mother of your child or children, you ought to spend some time making friends in jail.

Then you can do the counseling on wife beating, since there’s seems to be a fair amount of consensus that it’s not a one time problem and you might be facing recivdism (not saying we have data for Mr. Rice), THEN you can look for work.

What is he qualified to do? Did he ever get trained or study to do anything else? Time to start.

And, btw, NOT OUR PROBLEM. Next time, don’t fucking hit her.

As far as where is it appropriate, in general for wife beaters to be, see the first line - rinse and repeat. If they’re still hitting, they need to go somewhere else UNTIL THEY STOP.

I don’t know if he is qualified to do anything. But, for the sake of argument, suppose he is qualified to do any job in the whole wide world, including running back in the NFL. You’ve stated he should not be allowed in the NFL. Where is is now allowed to pursue a career? Is he not allowed in the NFL to protect the image of the NFL or because he is scum and undeserving of having a job at all?

It never ceases to amaze me, although it shouldn’t, how in this day and age (and with all the information out there), there’s still people who don’t understand how domestic abuse works. Is it willful if ignorance or what? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand why these women stand by their “man.” It’s the 21st century, people, learn some damn things about shit you don’t necessarily understand.
