Fuck Trump and his followers

This article about the owner of the farm does say he’s a Trump supporter, but i’d be very surprised if he wasn’t in MAGA up to his eyeballs.

Let me add my “Fuck Fuck Fuck” to the chorus. It’s hard to predict exactly how the next four years will play out, but the result will be somewhere on a scale from “Very Bad” to “Catastrophic for America and the World with ill effects lasting far beyond the four years.”

It is disgusting that tens of millions of Americans embraced this peculiar orange-flavored fascism. It is hard to fathom what combination of racism, stupidity and self-pity led them to vote for Trump.

But they could not have achieved this “victory” by themselves. Trump’s victory depended on millions of cretins like the following:

I didn’t read the whole thread; did Crafter_Man come to his senses and acknowledge his ignorance and confusion? As a poster on this message board he is surely intelligent; why couldn’t he solve the trivial puzzle of which lever to pull on Election Day?

True, his voting for Harris wouldn’t have changed the outcome. But there were many millions of American voters who reasoned like Crafter_Man and voted not for Harris or didn’t vote at all; together they did determine the outcome. Mark my words: By 2028 or sooner they will feel great shame for their complicity.

From the linked article,

A lawyer for Mr Spafford said on Tuesday that the government’s claim he was dangerous was “rank speculation and fear mongering”, because the suspect had no criminal record.

No one is a criminal, until they are.

I mentioned it in another thread ( the wrong thread? ) that there were two more additional attempted domestic terrorism attacks today… one in Idaho (IED on a train) and one in South Carolina (bomb in trailer of 18 wheeler.

Suspects in both (arrested) were born here, caucasian and male.

Where on earth did you get that idea?

Were either former or current US military? I’m noticing a trend…

Motion to replace;

‘President Musk and Vice President Trump’,

With,

‘President Musk and First Lady Donald’

They won’t.

Ooof! Strike 2.

To be fair, I think, at least a 3rd, may realize their mistake, as some are right now. I’m not lumping those people in with those who are mad at Trump, but do the mental gymnastics required to blame the left, somehow.

I really don’t see it. You have people voting for him this time who had family members die from COVID during his first term. I just think that this is who we are, a profoundly stupid nation of hateful people.

I think many of them are subconsciously fucking terrified right now. Moreso than the level of “terrified” they’re use to getting off too. I mean, people ARE regretting it… and yes, online highlights and amplifies the people who are questioning things, but I also think that decent against Trump is getting more normalized.

… and that FAUX News is playing it up as “Terrorist Immigrants” to try to fan flames for some huge power grab for President Musk and First Lady Donald?

Even though the NO driver was not an immigrant. Nor the LV bomber. I think the first might’ve had the right skin color to match their fake narrative, but I don’t think the latter did.

Who knows? Maybe it’s harder to Manchurian Candidate POC vets than bearded Caucasian vets…

And a nation with a great majority that can’t be bothered to vote and just don’t give a damn.

They are part of the profoundly stupid and hateful. They are every bit as much pieces of shit as Trumpists.

I’m just first reading this thread because I’m depressed, so forgive me if this sentiment has been stated before.

This.

Even through Reagan / Bush / Bush2, this country was on a long run of becoming more tolerant. At least the leaders were.

Donald Trump realized that he could abuse the primary system to get the nomination by appealing to the lowest common denominator. He would get up at his rallies and make fun of the handicapped and make fun of grieving gold star parents and make fun of immigrants. The worst thing Donald Trump has done to this country is what has become of public discourse.

During his run in 2016, I (correctly) said that Donald Trump would not do a single thing in office that didn’t benefit him financially. I don’t think he really cared who he put on the Supreme Court, other than that they had to be conservative and would rule towards deregulation of any industry. He has no respect for the office of President of The United States of America. If it wasn’t for COVID, he would have won reelection handily against Biden. Biden won because Americans were scared. “We’re stuck at home! More people are getting hospitalized and dying! We need change NOW!” Four years later, we’re no longer in an obvious catastrophe. “Ya know, prices are higher than they were. Economy must be bad. It was booming the last time this guy was in office; maybe we need him back.”, forgetting that he’s an egomaniacal moron, and when (not “if”) a major catastrophe happens, he will absolutely screw it up worse than the last time.

I do understand people with socially conservative viewpoints. It is a viable opinion. Trump has made it OK to be an asshole about it. That should not now nor ever be acceptable. He has fed on the “It’s someone’s fault that I’m a poor dirt-farmer; it’s THEIR fault!” dynamic, and showed them that it’s OK to say that out loud and to act on those emotions. “I don’t give a shit about you - what’s in it for me?” At the risk of sounding like a grumpy-old-man, we as a society have forgotten that there are other people in this world, and their viewpoints and their needs are just as important as yours, and everyone should at least show respect towards everyone else. You don’t have to agree with them, but you do have to show them respect. Unless, of course, they have done something SPECIFIC TO YOU. The default should be “respect” not “hatred”. Donald Trump may not personally be a racist, but he sure as hell is doing everything in his power to empower their hatred.

Thank you for letting me rant. I’m still depressed, but feel a little bit better.

It’s funny how CNN didn’t report on the Idaho train IED or the Greensboro truck…

Oh, no, I don’t believe for a second Trump expected to gain the Republican nomination let alone win the 2016 election. He was just trying to build his brand and was just as surprised as we all were when the grift was so successful.

Neither, it seems, does the victorious portion of the electorate.
