Fuck you, bitch from HR

Complain to HR about HR? My head’s exploding just thinking about what a clusterfuck that would be.

Whew. Good thing it was a joke.

I’ve never been to a meeting that was important to me.

When I was finishing up my doctorate, there was a rule that all final oral exams (kind of like a dissertation defense but they can ask you any damn thing) had to be attended by a representative from the Graduate School. The guy they assigned me didn’t show. Turned out he was at a conference at a hotel a couple of miles up the road. We had to reschedule for the next day - the Grad School sent a different rep who was diligent enough to actually fuckin’ show up.

That was the beginning of my disenchantment with the academic mindset.

Winston, did you receive profuse apologies when she rescheduled? If so, I’d let it go. If not, you have every right to fume.

Everyone screws up, but if it’s not habitual, and they own up to their mistakes and more importantly acknowledge the negative impact of their mistake, it’s not even something to bother forgiving. It’s just something that happens.

On a few occasions (out of 10+ years in my current job), I’ve gotten my schedule mixed up and gotten involved in something when I’ve had a meeting scheduled. Sometimes what distracted me was important, and sometimes it was as trivial as a cuppa joe. But when I’ve realized my mistake, I’ve always fallen on my sword and grovelled.

I’ve known people who haven’t offered sincere apologies when they miss a meeting, and it is very unprofessional.

I work in a hospital and when we get promotions that are a different positionl, not so much a ranking, then it has to go through HR since it is a much higher wage increase. For example when i was promoted from Helpdesk Tech I to Tech II it just a small bump in wage from my manager. But when i was promoted to from Tech III to Administrator I then it went through HR. Can’t quite explain why, that’s just how the system works.

Ah. That makes sense, thanks.

Wait…you were late to the meeting, and you’re mad because she didn’t wait for you?

I think he’s saying they were supposed to meet somewhere other than at her desk, and after he waited for her 15 minutes he went over to her desk to ask what was up.

Ah. In that case, I don’t blame him for being steamed.

You still can disable her network logon.

And I started jumpin up and down yelling, “KILL, KILL,” and
he started jumpin up and down with me and we was both jumping up and down
yelling, “KILL, KILL.” And the sargent came over, pinned a medal on me,
sent me down the hall, said, “You’re our boy.”

And then he can fix it really quickly. He can show his flexible, team-playing, go-to guy personality.

She might’ve had a poop sneak up on her.

You just said that she called to re-schedule. Did she apologize? If not she is being very unprofessional. Maybe it’s too late now, but I would have sent her an email putting it on record that she missed the meeting without explanation (but be as nice as possible about it).

Is it possible that she’s testing you in any way? i.e. your ability to deal with unprofessionalism in the workplace?

Please tell me you don’t work in the medical profession.

I’ve never been to a meeting that was important to me.

Can’t get it from that, either.

Not even if you play with Tiger Woods?
