As was pointed out, Zenster was banned for a long string of offenses and had many warnings. If the mods think that my suggestion is more offensive than Hydrocortisone’s OP and ban me with no warning, that’s up to them. If they warn me, I will apologize.
But you’re not a mod.
Rape is a horrible, ugly crime that affects the victim’s life for years after the original assault. The guilt and shame, the imposition of victimhood and powerlessness eat away at relationships and the ability to trust others or to love and be loved. My rhetorical flourish is nothing compared to that.
Thank you Ferret Herder for sharing your experience. THAT’s the kind of stuff that most people associate with being violated in such a way…not thinking it is somehow pleasurable.
And before we all get out of hand…I don’t want anything bad to happen to Hydrocortisone and I certainly don’t hope he ever experiences rape or anyone he loves experiences it either. And if something that bad ever happens I hope some asshole doesn’t suggest they should have tried to relax and enjoy it.

I just couldn’t believe what I was reading. It’s one of those surreal moments where you think your eyes must be mixing up the words in the sentence or somehow you skipped over a word…just wow.
I hope he is just an under the bridge dwelling creature and not a real person who actually has this kind of logic about rape. If he is, then that is a sad thing indeed.
And the more I think about this…then WHY is he still around? I’ll go do a search in a bit but has he been warned? How many times? Are all his posts inflammatory or has he contributed anything at all to this board short of those inflammatory posts?
I am not a mod, I’m not junior modding, and I trust that our mods at the very least have their eyes on his posting style.
Let me hasten to add that I do not wish Hydro any ill will, I merely want him to see his comments are very hurtful.

No clue. Coldfire’s posted in many of his threads, and many have commented on his inability to fixate on anything other than a shiny piece of metal for more than 5 seconds on several occassions. He’s got to be on some sort of watch list, doesn’t he?
gobear, no worries. It’s a touchy subject, and fevers run high in these discussions. I just think that’s probably not very constructive to jam something up Hydro’s ass, since his head already occupies the location.

Having known intimately people who have suffered serious cases of both, I’d say the physical consequences of each manifest themselves similarly - I’m guessing Hydrocortisone is, currently, either somewhat disconnected or immature in matters emotional. But he is, at least, asking the question.
Goes against my instinct to take too much at face value but I probably will here. At least for the moment.
Actually I just checked and the OP’s threads have some very basic trademarks:
They’re aggressively ignorant
They’re inflammatory (Why do Liberals hate etc…)
He rarely, if ever, sticks around to defend his silly “points”
Basically he is just posting stupid shit to upset people. I think he believes some of what he posts, but this was probably just brought on by him being rejected by (what I can only imagine is an endless stream) a woman or something.
I can’t really muster any other feeling than pity for him. It’s sad that there are so many people out there, like him, that can’t get any sort of fulfillment out of their lives and have to behave like this in order to get some basic attention. I bet what he really just wants is for someone to hold him.

I just don’t get his “style”. If he would explain maybe where he’s coming from or at least apologize when he is so offensive then I would consider it a matter of ignorance to try and gently correct. Since none of these things seem to occur, then to me, he’s just looking to ruffle people’s feathers. We have a word for that.
You know, maybe he should be given the benefit of the doubt, and is simply very young and/or very ignorant on the subject. Hopefull he’s learned from the original thread.
I would tend to agree with you if he ever came back into his trainwrecks to apologize for his insensitivity or began to develop as a poster.
From what I can see, he just keeps posting the same brand of ignorance…just on different subjects.
I also think he is probably very young and inexperienced and would be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt if he seemed to be here to learn or educate himself. I don’t see that though.
I was maybe the first to point out that he rarely comes back to defend his threads, but in this case it’s possible was closed before he had a chance. I could see that maybe he was simply very ignorant of something, asked a question (in GD since it’s debatable subject, which is appropriate), but it was closed before he could defend his hypothesis or admit he was wrong.
