To tell the truth, I didn’t realize you were an Eminem fan.
I dislike the woman myself. But why must you be so crude?
Ms Davis’s appearance indicates she’s trying to erase the sexual being she once was–but she’s still being used by men. She is unwilling to do the well-paying position she inherited for unsound “religious” reasons. Her job is not to solemnize marriages but to sign documents allowing for civil marriages per the law of the land. As had been expected for some time, the law of the land changed.
So she ought to do her job or resign. Instead, she’s posing with presidential candidates who are far down in the polls. And allowing herself to become the center of a potentially violent situation.
Ms Davis is a stupid hypocrite but your lipsmacking glee at the concept of a non-monogamous woman is misdirected. Cruz & Huckabee & her legal team & the jackbooted thugs threatening to murder judges & officers of the court are the really obscene characters.
I dunno, at this point I think she’s being advised to do this by a lot of well meaning people as well as a lot more people with different and hidden agendas, AND she’s being told that she’s some great Christian HERO and it’s placing a lot of expectations on her. I’m sure a lot of those voices are singing in the key of MONEY too. (meaning they’re telling her she can make money doing this, not that they themselves are giving it to her)
Well, presumably, that only applies after the unification of (their) church and state.

I like directing ironic insults back at the person who deserves it. Personally, my views on divorce and adultery are much more nuanced, but her public persona has little room for nuance, so I like to throw her false piousness back at her. That’s where the crude comes in, because her supporters are more than likely to bristle at such vivid imagery
Except that all the divorces happened before she became a fundamentalist Christian. So, she’s a sinner, but God forgives her; no hypocrisy.
She was married in a Baptist church. How is that not Christian?
It’s not only the divorce that is sinful; it is also remarrying after divorce. That is a sin for which she is still unrepentant, therefore unforgiven.
You missed the “fundamentalist”. She wasn’t a fundamentalist before. She is now. Before, divorce was hunky-dory for her brand of religion. Her new brand of religion doesn’t allow it, but since she did it before she got the new, fundamentalist, religion, she’s forgiven. She just can’t do it again.
If the bible is what she’s going off of, then it didn’t matter if she was an atheist or Zoroastrian before she became what she is now. By her beliefs now, it was always wrong, never subject to debate, and therefore she was wrong even before she knew it and is going to hell. And I’ll be damned if I let some ignorant pervert who’s going to hell tell me what’s right or wrong
So if I don’t believe, I can do what I want and God can’t do anything to me?
That is so cool!
Easily one of the stupidest thing in the entire thread.
She’s just a poor widdle woman who’s got her pretty little head all confused by men. Women shouldn’t have personal responsibility because men are making them do these nasty hateful things. Right?
As long as you repent before the end, pretty much. More of a “won’t” than a “can’t”, though.
So it’s like comedy. Just a matter of timing.
Dying is easy. Comedy is hard.
Dying is hard. I got hit by a truck once and it just bounced off.
The Bible says “what God has joined together” - so presumably her argument would be that her previous marriages weren’t actually blessed by God. Which kind of makes her Catholic wrt annulment of improperly formed marriages.
Not that she would appreciate being linked with the Great Whore of Rome.
Her fourth marriage was a remarriage to her second husband. If her first husband was an adulterer or is dead, she’s OK by the bible. Now, if she was the adulterer, I don’t know. While the bible makes it clear that divorce and remarriage by the injured party is OK, it doesn’t seem to comment on whether the guilty party is allowed to remarry following the divorce.
