Ah. I think I remember. The judge told the deputies no shenanigans. Quite a legal decree. :rolleyes:
Ms. Davis did not get any such order I guess. The judge did fuck up, and she should still simply still be in jail. Or gone back as soon as she modified the licenses. Bunning has the spine of a warm piece of cheese.
Mrs. Davis was indeed informed that she should stay out of the way of her deputies in regards to the issuance of marriage licenses; she simply has chosen not to.
Other than that, you’ve summed things up well, IMO.
Kentucky clerk Kim Davis blames governor for legal woes
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, hauled to jail for defying a series of federal court orders and refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, filed a 40-page court document Thursday, blaming Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear for all of her legal woes.
The day the Supreme Court effectively legalized gay marriage in June, Beshear sent a letter to the state’s 120 county clerks directing them to issue licenses. Davis on Thursday complained that in doing so he “commandeered” county clerk’s offices and “usurped control of Kentucky marriage law.”
<snip>
Beshear has asked a judge to dismiss the suit.

The crazy runs deep with this one - I need to find the filing itself to see just how crazy it gets.
She ought to run for Congress then - her extensive experience in refusing to do her job would probably qualify her for a leadership position in the House.
So we are supposed to believe that although he doesn’t know Mrs. Davis’s case in detail, Pope Francis contacted her, sent a car to pick her up, told her to “stay strong”, both embraced and hugged her (quoting her “lawyer” here, bear with me), and gave her two sets of rosary beads that he had blessed? Seriously? :dubious: Well, that’s what her “lawyer” said:[
