Fuck you, Rowan County (KY) Clerk Kim Davis

The only person making an assertion that the Pope “supported” Kim Davis is Kim Davis.

Not that the Pope has ever claimed to be in support of SSM in the first place.

He’s probably got more progressive ideals than most popes, but he’s still more conservative than not on his pet issue of religion. I still like him though, I don’t have to agree with everything he does to understand that he’s one of the more liberal popes by pope standards we’ve had in a while. So if he met Davis, oh well, it sucks but he still calls for focusing on the poor, helping refugees, and climate change.

I think it is significant that the Pope felt it was prudent to meet her in secret.

Admiral Donitz was one of the more progressive Nazis, by Nazi standards. And oddly enough, I still don’t like him. :stuck_out_tongue:

The only person claiming that the Pope felt it prudent to meet Kim Davis in secret is Kim Davis.

Can you still give him one quick “Heil Donitz” ? Please ? Just the one ?

What does Ms Davis’s church teach about rosaries–one of which the Pope reportedly gave her.

Explication of Galations 5:19-21 from a church that appears to be of her denomination.

It appears her church is against any form of jewelry, because of its association with the really evil stuff–like rosaries.

Will she burn her souvenir?

She gave them to her parents, who are Catholic.

…and therefore going to Hell anyway.

"I can take no part in ongoing sin - "

see - that is hypocritical.

As someone on Facebook said, the Pop also met with Mark Wahlberg - that doesn’t mean he liked Ted. I doubt the Pope or his handlers really knew much about who Davis was or what she represents.

BBC News has run footage of her personally detailing her meeting with the Pope. She looks annoyingly smug.

“In Vincente Chase I see much of my own life,” the Pontiff told Wahlberg, “and the antics of Turtle always fill my heart with joy.”

[Well I’ll be damned. But:

The Vatican is now downplaying the meeting.

Is it a shock that Mrs. Davis and her lawyer are liars (again)? :dubious:

The bible is very, extremely clear that homosexuality is a sin but never touches on lying.

“If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. Or, you know, maybe not.”

*"The brief meeting between Mrs. Kim Davis and Pope Francis at the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington, DC has continued to provoke comments and discussion. In order to contribute to an objective understanding of what transpired I am able to clarify the following points:

"Pope Francis met with several dozen persons who had been invited by the Nunciature to greet him as he prepared to leave Washington for New York City. Such brief greetings occur on all papal visits and are due to the Pope’s characteristic kindness and availability. The only real audience granted by the Pope at the Nunciature was with one of his former students and his family.

“The Pope did not enter into the details of the situation of Mrs. Davis and his meeting with her should not be considered a form of support of her position in all of its particular and complex aspects.”*

So she was just a part of the crowd.

On Friday, Ms. Davis thru her legal team will file a lawsuit against the pope and the vatican for defamation.

“They made us look bad - they totally said they supported us and stuff, that I had to stay strong”
