Fuck you, that's my parking spot!

I haven’t seen them yet to talk to them. I could hear them moving around upstairs, but the door to the porch was locked, and there’s no bell, and no one answered to me knocking.

Later, I saw the car was moved, but I didn’t see anyone move it, and no one’s been around since, so I haven’t been able to talk to anyone. If they come around, I will. Since I work nights and they work days, we don’t see a whole lot of each other.

If I do see them, I’d just thank them for moving their car so I could get in, and ask them to please not park there, since I shoveled the spot out myself. If they need their spot shoveled, I don’t really mind helping. And there’s going to need to be a lot of shoveling done tomorrow. We’ve already got a few inches and it’s supposed to snow through to tomorrow last I heard.

Here in Chicago, people put chairs or empty milk crates up to “reserve” their street spaces. I really can’t stand that practice. If I shovel my space (which I do), and leave it, it’s up for grabs. I’m not going to get pissed if someone takes my space. There’s no assigned street parking. I suppose it wouldn’t piss me off so much if people only did it when we got a foot of snow, but some people get ridiculous and put up crates and chairs after shoveling out two inches or so. Makes me want to take a baseball bat to their space markers.

I just shoveled out my third parking spot in three days, one at midnight when I got home from a party. I’m finally parked in front of my house after being 2 blocks away most of the weekend. And I still hate people reserving spots with crates and chairs. The street is the street. You want reserved parking then buy a house with a driveway.
