UK authorities have made a huge anti-terror bust, and the media is all but silent. Why? The fuckers are ex-BNP white supremacists. If they were Muslim nutjobs, the incident would be all over the place.

From the article:
Yes - and anyone vaguely connected with them would have been swept up for a few weeks questioning. And of course Heathrow would be closed. These bastards need fighting just as hard as Islamic terrorists.
Funny; when I worked at the BBC, the stream of complaints that we favoured black people was unending (“Oh my god, how dare you report on Damilola Taylor? You wouldn’t give a shit about a white murder victim!!”).
In my short time there, I was accused of bias in favour of:
Black people,
White people,
Belgians,
Manchester United,
Manchester City,
Anyone but Chester FC,
Homosexuals,
Homophobes,
Prematurely bald people,
People with eating disorders,
People without eating disorders,
Cannibals,
Cannibals specialising in people with eating disorders,
Dvorak layout keyboards,
Torx screwdrivers and many more besides, to the point where I could predict almost to the word what the response would be to a given story (“How dare you report Jody Dobrowski’s murder? This is blatant heterophobia!”).
Anyway; I have to say that it’s extra special to see not only the BBC but the entire British media accused of a conspiracy of silence in favour of white supremacists. Who knew such an overarching editorial policy was possible at all, let alone on behalf of a pathetic fringe group of fuckwits? Please, tell us more about this self-evident act of collusion. Who’s in charge, eh? Are the notoriously right-wing Guardian in on it? Ooooooh, it’s so exciting.
Or perhaps it’s not scandal-worthy because it’s not the boogieman du jour?
Good argument - but not exactly addressing the point of the OP, which I read as ‘why isn’t this being reported in the same way it would be where Moslems involved?’.
Which is a good question, and demonstrates no accusation of bias, even inherent!
Quite. It’s obviously not a conspiracy - just an example of herd media instinct, combined with the lack of batshit hysterical police raids, in action. If this were an islamic incident we’d have had the 200 officers, the bio-suits, the ‘accidental’ shootings etc etc.
David Bolus Jackson? Journalists can resist that?
Hmm - I read the “they’re ex-BNP” bit as being an accusation at the media, which I guess on re-reading the OP wasn’t the idea. Nonetheless, the very title “Fuck you, UK media” contains a smidgen of an implicit accusation of bias, wouldn’t you say?
I dunno; I guess I just never find these “why isn’t this being reported?” rants very exciting. It’s like the pit threads that demand to know why no-one else has started a thread on <insert topic> close to the complainer’s heart. Basically, we don’t know very much about this story. We know “chemicals” were found, we have an unattributed quote saying something about a “record haul”. From the most factual article I can find (in the Burnley Citizen) we get this:
with no mention of a “record haul” or anything else. Maybe it’s just not that exciting a story? Maybe (as mentioned in the article I linked) the police are trying to keep a lid on things precisely to prevent a media circus?
There’s a veritable smorgasbord of boring, innocent explanations queuing up before we get to fucking the UK media, is my point. One of them may well be that the Pendle police (in contrast to the Met under Ian Blair) aren’t a bunch of complete fuckwits and are actually capable of maintaining sanity when faced with some tubs of unidentified goop. Who knows? Furthermore, the story appears to be trickling slowly out.
Wow. It’s true it waasn’t on the news.
Supt Smith added: “He’s not a terrorist and it’s not a bomb factory… He was arrested under the Explosives Act on suspicion of possessing chemical substances that aren’t in themselves an offence to possess…”
Not exactly a huge anti-terror bust then.
Only if you’re looking for it. Might as well say the very title “Fuck you, Fabian Barthez” contains an implicit accusation that he’s no good at saving penalties. It could, sure, but it could just as well mean something completely different.
That said, this sounds less and less like a huge terror bust as time goes on, meaning you’re probably not the only one with your finger too close to the trigger.
Perhaps it’s because they don’t represent the same threat?
Or are they being financed by fanatical multi-millionaires and/or nations hostile to the west; do they number in the tens or hundreds of thousands spread all over the globe and committing terrorist acts all over the globe; have they flown commercial jetliners into public and military buildings, killing thousands; do most people in every free country in the world fear what they’ll do next, etc., etc., etc.?
Not so hard to figure out, really.
