A friend of mine has lost both his parents in the past few months - and just found out he’ll be losing his job later this year. Any one of those would be a pretty big shit sandwich for anyone. All three in such a short span of time? Yeah, fuck you, Universe. That’s just cruel.

Universe A is crummy. Sorry to hear about your friend, that really sucks. But I’m aways surprised to see just how resilient people are.
We have my husband’s best friend staying with us at the moment - he is currently getting divorced, the house he was staying in got sold, and then, when he was a couple days away from moving in with us, he lost his job. Oh yeah, the other house he bought with his wife can’t be re-financed to take his name off the title as part of the divorce settlement because she just got laid off, too. Life, eh? Sometimes it just won’t stop kicking you in the jubblies.
