Actually, what I am trying to say is that the pics should have been behind a link on the homepage. Apparently they are so I guess I have nothing more to say.
Except in my ranch dressing thread in IMHO.

What about that autopsy picture of Tupac?
I just went to foxnews.com. There aren’t any photos of them on the homepage, and they IS a link to them, so you can decide to see them or not. So, what the fuck are you bitching about??
Those pictures have zero shock and/or awe value. I am not too sorry about the killing of those two but I am very upset about the death of a fourteen year old boy. I know that he fired on US troops, or so the story goes, but damnit all, deliberately killing a fourteen year old kid is over the line in my book. I have to admit that I don’t have a clue as to what those on the spot should have done, though. It’s just that the older I get, the more firmly I believe that ALL children should have their time—it seems to me that the death of children is the biggest wrong of any war.
Q.E.D., Q.E.D., Q.E.D.:
I loves ya, baby, but sometimes you gotta learn how to read the entire thread. Or at least make a logical leap.
The pictures really didn’t disgust me, in terms of bloodiness or goriness or whatever. I just don’t know why we need to see stuff like this. When I heard on the news that they had been confirmed dead, I believed it–I didn’t need the pictures as proof. To me, the display of the pictures is boastful and unnecessary.
I gotta say, I’m surprised that there has only been one person in this thread to point out the hypocrisy of the contrasting reactions to al-Jazeera’s publication of gruesome war-trophy propaganda pics with the “so-what” attitude that American network news’ publication of the same sort of thing seems to engender.
Thanks AwSnappity, I was just about to post the exact same thing.
Perhaps there are lands other than America — lands where people do not merely trust news that their Rapist in Chief is dead. They want pictures.
I’ve seen much, much worse. Rotten.com, for instance. In fact, those photos are currently the headliners on rotten.com. But even they have a homepage composed entirely of links; nothing jumps out at you without your making the choice to click a link.
I’m not sorry that they were posted at all, mind. This is news; this is what is happening. The problem with putting them on the front page of a site is simply that a lot of people, myself included, hit a news site first or second thing in the morning (CNN.com is my homepage), subconsciously expecting to see a bland photo, like Bush getting out of Air Force One, or the site of a fire, well after the fire had been put out. Seeing U and Q on a homepage would have been jarring, to say the least, not necessarily because of the content, but because they are fucking dead bodies!!
Now, the instant I saw that link, I was on it like a Teamster on a doughnut. Knowing, of course, what I was letting myself in for. Again I say, to me it was not much, but then I’m Gen-X. My mom, on the other hand, if she saw those pics with no warning beforehand, probably went right back to bed. Hmm…I should call her…
Why would anyone surf foxnews.com in the first place?
I didn’t even know they had a website. Is is hosted on AOL Hometown?
Pfft! That’s not gory! THIS is gory…
Yay, this page got to two pages.
Now, if I say I fucking hat Collounsbury, will the page count get 5?
Hahahahaha…
fucking hat Collounsbury… that fucking hat…
Geez, I knew they were a couple of sickos, but necrophiliacs? News to me . . .
A reminder to everyone, that what you see in main stream movie theaters is NOT REAL. Even if an image is ‘disturbing’, the viewer can find comfort in the fact that it is a dramatic representation.
link?
Yeah, I didn’t catch that until after I’d hit ‘submit’.
Dead fucking bodies, okay?
I agree that the killing of children is arguably the “biggest wrong of any war”, but if I’m a soldier in an armed conflict and a 14 year old kid fires on me, he’s as dead as a 19 year old in uniform.

Shoot him before he kills you.
And these pics would be nothing if they were pics of YOUR brothers/sons?
Startup screen.
