Fucking maskholes and vaxholes

He appears to be gone from the board already, which is what I’m going to choose to interpret as your meaning. (Though if he’s no longer a board member I suppose he’s fair game now.)

I don’t believe this person one bit.

Yeah, quite likely lying.

How can you tell when someone is banned now? Clicking on his name didn’t show anything, although I did see a Mod’s comment elsewhere that the jerk was wished away to the corn field for being a troll.
Thanks.

Click on the avatar, then click on it again. (At least in my phone that’s how it works). It’ll say “suspended” because the system can’t do “banned”. I think it was ECG who explained it in one of the bannings today.

Thanks! I double clicked, and saw ‘suspended’ as well as ‘banned’.
Hmm, now it says “Banned” after his name - can I see this now because I clicked on the avatar, or was it going to show up eventually anyway?
(sorry for the hijack)

Very recent discovery by Colibri on how to add “Banned” to the user name.

Great! (I see I credited the wrong mod a couple posts above.) Colibri outsmarted discobot.

I think “BANNED” is the standard thing Discourse puts next to a banned user name. Look through some old zombie threads and you see lots of them.

I suspect Colibri just suspended the guy and publicly announced he’d been taken care of, then later banned him.

Banned was carried over from the old board. Discourse was saying “This poster is suspended”, which is apparently a permanent thing, and then Colibri figure out how to edit the poster’s title to be Banned.

Congressmaskhole Gohmert tests positive.

Rep. Louie Gohmert — a Texas Republican who has been walking around the Capitol without a mask — has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to multiple sources.

Gohmert was scheduled to fly to Texas on Wednesday morning with President Donald Trump and tested positive in a pre-screen at the White House. The eighth-term Republican told CNN last month that he was not wearing a mask because he was being tested regularly for the coronavirus.

“[I]f I get it,” he told CNN in June, “you’ll never see me without a mask.”
Yeah, we’ll see.

I’d be perfectly content to never see him again. Period.

Should he succumb to the virus, I wonder if he’ll be masked in his casket.

Ref the Gohmert article …

I’m confused.

If COVID is simply an LW hoax, why are any of the RW hierarchy being tested at all? The last place you’d expect to be concerned about the risk coming from a hoax would be at the Hoaxer in Chief’s place. He’s got far more to lose from looking weak and falling for the hoax than he does from looking cautious in the face of this obvious LW hoax.

Perhaps maybe they’re all lying when they say it’s a hoax? Naaaah, couldn’t be. Could it??

Will shrouds be remarketed as “maskets”?

I hope someone’s writing down these ideas.

If Gohmert hadn’t been scheduled to accompany Trump on that flight, no one would have known he was COVID-positive. He’d have gone on infecting people.

Kevin McCarthy accidentally (or so he claimed) gave Gohmert a nickname which has been trending on Twitter:

And Gohmert, (mask-free?), in person, announced to his staff that he tested positive.

This guy is failing to connect some dots here.

Yesterday.

My wife and kids are spending most of the summer back where she’s from. Remote, rural island location, wonderful for the kids, and entirely free of C19.

My wife is a lawyer, runs her own practice. I go by her office and and check the mail, deposit checks, occasionally do some paralegal work.

She had about 40 boxes of papers in her office, documents produced in discovery in a litigation matter. I’d been scanning some of them from time to time, sending them to her for review. She finished the review, so the boxes could be sent to her records storage company.

Great, no problem, I called the company, made arrangements for pickup. Turns out that this company has their own C19 procedures and will only do curbside pickup. That’s one thing for groceries and another for 40 boxes of paper (do you know how much a box stuffed with paper weighs? I do. From 40 to 50 pounds, if it’s full).

But okay, it’s gotta be done, so I scrounge up a dolly and start bringing it down to the sidewalk. Turns out this will take three trips, because I can fit 14 boxes, at most, on the dolly for one trip. No problem.

So it has to go down in the freight elevator. Again, no problem.

But.

The freight elevator operator isn’t wearing a mask. The elevator is not large. I mean, it’s a small enclosed space. The worst kind of space to be in with someone without a mask. And he’s been there all day.

I say, “hey, mind putting a mask on?” He kind of grunts. Won’t even engage in conversation. Basically refuses to talk about it.

Fuck it. I’ve gotta get this done. I’m wearing a KN95 mask, and hopefully that will give me some protection.

But six trips with this asshole (six, because since I’ve got a dolly, I can’t use the passenger elevator to go back up)? Jesus fucking Christ.

I get the job done. I’m pissed off. I leave.

About two blocks away, I turn around. Fuck this. I go back to the building, find the building manager, and tell him the story.

I have a huge natural reluctance to be a rat, a tattletale, a snitch. But what else was I supposed to do? I tried to talk to the operator. He wasn’t interested. Fuck him.

I doubt that he’ll get into too much trouble. It’s a union building, and judging by his age, he’s got plenty of seniority.

But, as much as I hate to see anyone lose a job in these times, he should be fired.

Yesterday I saw two delivery guys in the cab of a 20’ box truck but only one of them (the driver) was wearing a mask.
