In recent news about the Truck Convoy vaxholes who descended upon Ottawa, intent on getting the Canadian federal government to rescind all of the Provincial laws about masks and vaccines, as well as the US laws about truckers needing vaccines to enter the US:
GoFundMe, has decided to cancel the funding campaign, which had raised over $10 million, and refund/donate all the cash. They are doing this because
it now has evidence from law enforcement that the demonstration “has become an occupation, with police reports of violence and other unlawful activity.”
GoFundMe says the fundraiser has been removed from its platform because it violates the site’s terms of service, which prohibit the promotion of violence and harassment.
In other fun news, there is now a class action lawsuit on behalf of the citizens who live in downtown Ottawa, targeting the organizers of the clusterfuck.
The case is set to go to court on Saturday afternoon, as the plaintiff is seeking an injunction calling for an end to the continued “nuisance” being experienced by downtown residents that have now faced a week of disruptions due to the ongoing demonstration.
The RCMP are going to be joining the Ottawa police this weekend.
And our beloved Pierre Poilievre continues to side with the lawbreakers, the neo-nazis, the science deniers and the other assorted nuts.
“go after the GiveSendGo as well, the are raising at nearly 3K a min. Lots of American MAGA personalities pushing this too. I fear they will raise a lot of money now with the US help. City should Class Action should also go after that money too.”
Hopefully contempt charges can be levelled if an injunction is ignored.
Good to see Conservative senator Dennis Patterson (appointed my PM Harper, no less) quitting the Conservative caucus over this stupidity.
You seem to have no way to communicate except with a barely coherent one or two sentence post that you imply contains some ultimate “gotcha” that owns the libs. If you have a point, make it more coherently or just fuck off. I don’t follow football, but it took me all of 10 seconds to find this:
Since I don’t know much about this, here’s your chance to fight my ignorance and make an actual case for whatever it is you’re implying. (I’m not holding my breath.)
It seems that a lot of entitled people either jumped the gun on LA’s February 15 lifting of mask mandates for the vaccinated, or are simply maskhole idiots who refuse to wear masks at all.
In any case, public safety officials strongly advise against trying to confront or force into compliance idiot maskholes who are refusing to wear masks. Probably a lot of idiot maskholes showed up at the SuperBowl just itching for a fight over their refusal to comply with mask mandates.
It’s a shame for idiot maskholes to get away with their idiot maskholery, but it’s better than permitting widespread chaos and disruption at a major event like the SuperBowl due to the idiot maskholes getting their stupid asses deservedly kicked.
They did, but only got as far as the parking lot before the tailgaters handed them beers and brats, and they decided to chill in front of some portable TVs…
It should be said that Garcetti appears to be in an area of the stadium designated for eating and drinking and has a beverage on one hand and a mask in the other. Under L.A. County’s Health Officer Order, attendees of such mega-events are allowed to take off their face coverings if they are in such a designated area and “actively engaged in eating or drinking.” Los Angeles Mayor Erik Garcetti & Most Fans Maskless At Super Bowl – Deadline
Looks like he was following rules whether or not you think it’s stupid to have designated eating/drinking areas. And as @Kimstu states, who’s going to enforce a mask rule for thousands of maskholes in their seats?
Well, I did assume that she meant “maskless” when she typed “massless”. Maybe she’s saying that the mayor of LA and many fans are actually ghosts masquerading as earthly beings. I wasn’t wearing my special glasses so I didn’t see them.
Independent of the Super Bowl discussion: this is the aspect of the idiot-maskhole phenomenon that I find most irritating. (Granted, ‘potentially spreading contagious disease’ is a close second.)
California and my county lifted the indoor mask mandate on the vaccinated today. I had to got to Costco this morning and I and most of the other customers and employees were wearing masks anyway. This frantic older guy was running up to anybody wearing a mask and saying, “You don’t have to wear a mask anymore!” As if the mandate was the only reason any sane person would still wear one.
Guy’s 9-year-old daughter is dying in a hospital in Winnepeg. He and his wife aren’t vaccinated so they can’t visit her. Instead of vaccinating, he’s out on the Freedom Convoy protesting needing to be vaccinated.
The article doesn’t say what the daughter has but is in palliative care. Instead of getting the jab, daddy is more interested in “hav[ing] my own choice.”
