full frontal nudity on TV- who will be the first?

foolsguinea, I saw her eye lids fluttering once & she has a nice behind too.

What were the most controversial music videos?

NIN made some pretty controversial videos,i seem to remember one that featured a completely nude man being torn apart by a machine.

Yes, that was it. And yes, they did. Honest. I swear on a stack of Bibles.

Doubt me if you wish, but I know what I saw, and its beaver was wide open :stuck_out_tongue:

And, wow, videos like “I Want Your Sex” and even “Justify my Love” suddenly seem really, really tame when viewed side-by-side with some of the others on the program. Wow.

Pretty sure that was “Happiness In Slavery”.

I watched the special, and IIRC the number one was Smack My Bitch Up by Prodigy. I believe that was the one with wide open beaver, albeit a passing shot.

I thought sure it was the Metallica video, with the strippers in their altogether on stage in various positions…

No penises, though. I don’t know when/if you’ll see one of them on TV, except in puppet form in Crank Yankers or in graphic form on the Discovery Health Channel.

Oh dear god, just please don’t let it be Larry King…

Pshaw. PBS has been doing full frontal nudity forever. National Geographic, anyone?

Also, I remember back in my salad days, when I accidentally stumbled across Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City one late weekday night. Being a hormonal teenager, I was shocked and yet intrigued that the same network that brought us Sesame Street was capable of that.

Japanese TV has a pee show where nude young girls demonstrate urine energy!!!

Strangely enough, I caught the “Smack My Bitch Up” video completely by accident both times they played it (it’s only been played twice uncut and in its entirety). I was flipping past MTV and saw Kurt Loder reading some long disclaimer and thought, “Well, I gotta see this!”

To clarify: yes, there are strippers in the video, doing what strippers do, which includes bending over, spreading their legs, so on. So, in that respect, there is “wide open beaver”. However, good luck to you if you try to discern labia, because the editing is very rapid and the perspective of the video at that point is from the POV of someone who is very drunk and very stoned, in a poorly-lit strip joint.

That said, in my opinion, the video is a shocking but impressive work of art, and it’s a shame more people can’t see it. The end will floor you.

OK, look, animation, big-screen flicks on TV, documentaries or anything shown on PBS don’t count. I’ll give partial credit for cable channels that you don’t have to pay extra for.

I’m talking made-for-American TV series or movies, here. I want to know who y’all think will be the first actor/actress with the balls/ovaries to bare it all, full and frontal, on, and specifically for, the American Small Screen.

(think I’ll rule out Jamie Lee Curtis, since it seems like she’ll shed her skivvies anywhere, anytime, and for no apparent reason)

Shall we instead make the proviso that said nudity is for the purpose of being sexually arousing? In documentaries/PBS, the nudity is for educational purposes, and in CSI and Schindler’s List and the like it certainly is not sexual.

Is this a bad thing?

There’s full frontal female nudity on a certain Massive Attack video. Saw it uncut here in Australia, but I’m not sure whether it was shown in the US.

There’s been full frontal male nudity on Australian TV too. I remember one which was an episode of a medical program featuring a real life penis enlargement (****), but I’m sure there have been other ocassions too.

There was full frontal male nudity on All in the Family in the mid 1970s. Archie Bunker changed the diaper of his grandson, Joey, and they showed the kid’s penis. There was a bit of a flap about it at the time.

So the kid was uncircumcised?

Why would PBS not count? The nudity in Tales of the City was hardly for “educational” purposes, although I must say I got educated about the goffiness of my local PBS affiliate, which pixilated Mona’s breasts but did not pixilate the male FFN.

Its gotta be either Harvey Keitel or Kate Winslet (AKA the Nakedest Folks in Show Business – Harvey FFN in Bad Lieutenant and The Piano, Kate barin’ it all in Jude (I think Titantic was a body double though) and they were nekkid together in “Holy Smoke.”)

Hello Again is right. If Kate Winslet ever does a TV movie, it’ll be her. She’s The Actress That Gets Naked; that’s her job. I don’t think she’s appeared in a movie NOT naked since “A Kid in King Arthur’s Court.” She’s naked in movies that don’t even need naked scenes.

I believe Valerie Perrine went full frontal in Steambath, broadcast in 1972.
