I just baught a new handheld tape recorder. I don’t know why. I just did.
What should I do with it?

Make a recording of half a conversation. Walk around pretending it is a cell phone. Argue with your recording.
conduct “on the street” interviews for obscure/nonexistent news organizations (or large news organizations; bonus points if you can convince people you are Tom Brockaw (sp?)).
Advertise low quality tape duplication.
If it has multiple speeds, stage a revival of Alvin and the Chipmunks (al-VIN!).
Hold the tape recorder in a inconspicuous position, but make it obvious you are doing so. Ask friends and co-workers questions like “so how about that bank robbery in the news” and “what were you up to last Friday?”
Insist on recording dates “for posterity.”
