I am raising money for MDA’s Executive Lock-Up for the second year. Everyone has been talking about the ALS Ice Bucket challenge, and it occurred to me that I could do something similar. I could post on Facebook about this, then mention that if my donations reach $X by mm/dd/yy, I will do Y and post the video on Facebook.
However, I am having an awful time coming up with ideas of what to do. If it was a cancer charity, I could get all behind shaving my head, but it’s not. I don’t want to do the ice bucket thing, because that’s associated with ALS. I can already dress casually at work, so that’s not an option. I’d prefer not to get a tattoo or piercing.
So, I am coming to the brains of the SDMB to see if you folks have any suggestions. I’d like to get this set up before the end of the week.
Thanks.
I did not post a link to my donation page here, because I have not cleared it with the moderators; however, if you’re willing to donate (with or without the dare), PM me and I will send you the link.
The “Shoot the Moon” challenge. Face the camera, call out people, turn and drop your pants.
The “Show your Tits” challenge.
OK…those prolly aren’t good ideas.
How about a “Fight Song” challenge? Call out people, then sing the fight song for your favorite sports team. Bonus points if you call out fans of a rival school…get some “Roll Tide vs War Damn Eagle” or “Hoddy Toddy vs Hail State” action going on…
“Pie in the face” challenge–like ice buckets, but in the face, with pie.
Hair. It grows back. I invited my staff to bid on my summer haircut and style to raise money to support a cause. This is why I currently have a blue and purple mohawk.
Someone else suggested coloring my hair. Maybe I’ll make it so that the overall deal is that I will color my hair something not of nature; high bid gets to pick the color. Then work can’t squawk about it, because charity.
