Some of the State Farm “magic jingle” commercials are funny. I particularly like the one with the three college-age dudes who call for the State Farm agent when a baseball comes through the window.
Speaking of Sedelmaier, this was my favorite. You have to be in a certain age group to really appreciate it, though.
Twins by different mothers, then.
Agreed.
Born 7 1/2 years apart…
Can’t find any video online but there’s a Life Alert commercial that I like – to make fun of.
My version: “Your kitchen is sending smoke signals! They say, ‘Get out now!’”
I work in the kitchen at a Natural Foods Market in New Jersey. This one makes us all laugh, and we keep quoting the lines throughout the day.
i absolutely, positively agree. His other commercials are great, too
the Great American Soups ad:
The Sunsweet Pitted Prunes ad:
(I didn’t realize that he’d talked Ray Bradbury into doing one, too):
and many others.
holy shit.
I’ver herd them all my life. They go, “meow…” ![]()
I laughed, but mostly because they inadvertently seem to be saying that drinking Bud Light is like choking down a nasty veggie burger.
Pretty darn funny.
Any and all of the Budweiser Men of Genius commercials. And although I hate Geico commercials Old MacDonald failing the spelling bee makes me laugh.
Just saw one last night, I think for cat litter. It featured a cat riding around on a radio-controlled truck. I had to laugh.
I also always crack up for the Subway one where they have people’s buttons popping off, chairs collapsing, etc to the tune of the 1812 Overture.
I love the ‘This is Sportscenter.’ commercials for ESPN. The Y2K Test one never fails to make me laugh, especially the crazed mark McGwire bashing a computer with a bat.
And the one with David Ortiz wearing Jorge Posada’s Yankees cap is good as well.
I have to admit that I was convinced that this was some sort of put-on. If not an Onion- or SNL-style fake ad, then something from the ranks of the professional pranksters. But the product actually does seem to exist, supported not only by the website (which could be faked) or its presence on amazon (ditto), but because it has apparently been tried and ranked by websites and consumer groups. Finally, there’s this article by AdWeek, which gives full credits:
It’s good, apparently, but not perfect, judging from this report:
