Funniest moments in recent TV

"Guess what?

I got a fever. And the only prescription is More Cowbell!"

Is Taxi’s "what does the yellow light mean?’ more than 20 years ago?

Yup. Last episode was 1983.

The one that comes to mind was “Whose Line” does “world’s worst mohel”, and Drew Carey goes with a Jerry Lewis impression!

“Okay, look alive everybo- oh, sorry Susan.”

Good catch. Shatner was in the original *Twilight Zone *series (the “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” episode), Lithgow in Twilight Zone: The Movie.

The WKRP turkey episode. Amazing when you consider that the turkey drop was never shown. It was just a group of people standing around listening to it on the radio.

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly has become a standard phrase, funnier than Scarlett O’Hara’s As God is my witness, I will never be hungry again..

I mentioned that one in the OP as not what I was looking for - since it was more than 20 years ago.

Trying to pare down the list of “funniest things ever on TV” away from the noted classics, like that one, because it seems like all the super-funny moments were from too long ago.

Another with Niles Crane: the entire episode in which he takes care of his “baby,” which is actually a sack of flour.

And the scene in Everybody Loves Raymond, when Marie say to Debra, “Never let a suitcase on the stairs become your big fork and spoon,” ending with Frank’s “When did we get those?”

And another from Raymond: When Marie catches Robert and Amy having sex in the basement . . . Amy rushing upstairs wearing nothing but Robert’s huge pants . . . followed by Robert rushing upstairs without them.

And another: The entire PMS episode.

(And isn’t it amazing how many great moments there were, in a show that so many people hate?)

The “One Bad Bee” sketch from “Sonny With a Chance”:

Don’t blame me if you don’t get it though. Also check out the “Check it out Girls” and the “Fast Food Sketch” in the other videos in that channel.

Seinfeld, when George popped the Bubble Boy’s bubble. The way everybody just froze and the only thing we hear is hissssssssssssss…

Laughing hard just thinking about it.

Friends had been mentioning Chandler’s transvestie father, the Las Vegas entertainer for years. When Chandler and Monica are planning their wedding, she persues him to go to see his father’s show and invite him to the wedding.

Chandler: And theeeerrreee’s Daddy!
Monica is absolutely drop jawed. Finally she says “That cannot be your father.”
Chandler: I’ve been saying that for years!

“Daddy” was played by Kathleen Turner, and later had this exchange with Mommy, played by Morgan Fairchild

Daddy: Aren’t you too long in the teeth for that dress
Mommy: Aren’t you too long in the penis for that one?

I just saw this episode, and actually it was the reverse: First Robert rushed up just wearing his poiceman’s shirt, which just about covered his crotch…them Amy wearing the pants, holding the waistline over her bosom. It was funnier that way.

Stan told me to tell you he thinks you’re a cont…cont…cont…, you’re a cont, cont, cont…continuing source of inspiration to him.

Alan Partridge spots Dan

Papa Lazarou’s entrance

SNL did a skit called Carl Sagan’s Global Warming Christmas that was very good. I think Tom Hanks played Sagan.

The hardest I laughed to TV recently was to an episode of Rescue Me.

Garrity had concerns about whether anything was unusual about his “junk,” and the guys proceeded to inspect it. The reactions from, “I ain’t checking out your junk!” to “You mean other than being small?” and “Tweez it on out” had me rolling for a good couple of minutes.

Turns out he was using Mike’s lotion to beat off, which was actually bronzer.

If you can make Alex Trebeck laugh, I’d say that’s a winner.

During Ken Jennings’ reign, there was one answer about garden tools. It was something like “A term to describe someone of suspect sexual motives, or a garden tool.”

Ken buzzes in and answers “what is a ‘ho[e]’?”

Everybody laughed.

P.S. The answer was “a rake”.

I can’t remember anything recently that’s made me laugh as much as Alec Baldwin’s performance in this scene, where he takes part in a role playing therapy session with Tracy Morgan. I’m not sure if it’ll be quite as funny out of context of the whole episode, but damn, it had me laughing.

Arrested Development, first season. The scene where Tobias sneaks into the house of Maggie the “blind” lawyer (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfuss).
