Funniest taunts in a game.

Oh, and I forgot: In amstrad classic Oh, Mummy! if you died the mummy would laugh in a scary, electronic mummy voice “Ahh ahh ahhhhhh”

Not really a quote, or indeed, funny. In fact, quite scary…

“Go for the eyes, Boo, go for the eyes!”

“Stick to the pond, froggy!”
“Bow before the great Andross!”
“Daddy screamed reeeeeeeal good before he died!”

Starfox 64 was a classic quote goldmine.

“Butt-kicking for goodness!”

From Sinistar, I always loved “Beware, I live!” “Run, coward!” and “I hunger!”

lno: The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour always scared the crap out of me with those random, just-infrequent-enough comments from Stauf. brrr

Another one from FarCry:

“Hey! You! In the shirt!”

(Our protagonist is wearing a bright red Hawaiian print shirt throughout the game.)

So, Andross, you show your true form!
I loved that game. To bad the most recent one was so lousy.

It’s time to kick ass and chew bubble-gum… and I’m all out of gum.

There was a Duke Nukem knock off called Shadow Warrior. Your character was named Lo Wang, and he had some pretty funny shit to say (with a heavy Chinese accent). Here’s a list:

My favorites:
*“You move like a pregnant yak.”

“Who want some Wang?”

“You not very good with hands - try DICK!”

“Everybody dead. I like that.”*

I’ve been playing GTA: San Andreas a bit lately and recently discovered that if you leave the main character alone for a minutes he gets bored and starts singing songs from the radio. Imagine my surprise when I came back from warming up a cuppa to hear, “Never gonna get it, never gonna get it…beyotch!”
Classic. Not really a taunt, but classic anyway.

THIS is a taunt: “You get your sorry ass in here right now, Carl Johnson, or I shove a fucking hand grenade up it.”

Star Control II and 3 had some good lines. In fact, the alternate attack for the Pkunk Furies was to insult the enemy ship (Which improved the Pkunk’s own morale, as shown in battle with increased energy for the weapons). “Loser!” “Moron!” “Idiot!” “Worm!” “Dork!”

When dealing with one of the more moronic enemies in Star Control 3, you could sign off from a conversation with “EN GARDE! That means “Put up yer dukes”, you retard!”

The Wing Commander games had some great lines too, like “EAT SHIT AND DIE, GATO!” from Vaquero in Wing Commander 3.

That said, none of the taunts in the Wing Commander games approach the comedic genius of the taunts in the Wing Commander books, such as when one Kilrathi pilot shuots over the radio at a Confed pilot: “Bugs Bunny screws his mother!”

Ya drink bilge water, and yer mothers dress ya funny!

I was always fond of Zork (yes, I know, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth!) I tried to speak to the Wizard that was constantly showing up and mumbling spells that started with “f” such as freeze or float. When I typed in “say 'Hello, Wizard” the game responded with “You must address the Wizard of Frobozz directly.” Okay, so I typed in “Hello Wizard,” to which it responded “Talking to yourself is said to be a sign of impending mental collapse.”
