I’m not German, but isn’t it Der BMW? (und Fahrrad: die BMW?)
In the lot at school today:
01SPACE on an Odyssey
WBKTHNG on a white Thing. The plate holder read “Sherman” along the top and “Mr. Peabody” along the bottom.
Just remembered another one… a few years back I saw one that said LUV BJS. I thought it was dirty until I realized I was in Ontario, so it most likely referred to the Blue Jays. Or at least I’m sure that’s what the driver tells people.
A55 RGY
Saw a bright red Jaguar XJ8 convertible at work today. The license plate says PRRRRRR.
Plates here have a six character maximum, which makes the clever ones even better:
2NIL8U (on a muscle car)
HIHOAG
GET IN (on a 70s style panel van of the “don’t laugh, your daughter may be inside” variety).
Around here, lots of people have University of Virginia liscence plates. They have a blue circle on the left with a big orange “V” inside the circle. My favorite liscence plate has this pattern, and reads “AGINA.”
Hahahahah.
Funny vanity plates? Too easy. I thought this was going to be a thread about accidentally funny plates.
A coupla days ago, I saw an old grey beater that looked as though it was about to disintegrate. It had Ontario plates on it which read “YMMV 432.”
(Numbers not exactly as shown.)
And along similar lines years ago I saw GHUQUE. I didn’t get it but my sister started laughing and reminded me of Ogden Nash’s joke about spelling “fish” as “ghoti”.
I bet they screen those things a little tighter today…
“3M TA3”
You have to see it in your mirror backwards.
I saw one the other day that read RTST4HYR…It took me about 5 minutes to figure out what it was inteded to say.
I then cracked up, because this particular plate was on a BADLY souped up, ugly-decaled ricer car, with clashing decals relative to the car colour and one of those horrid blue lights around the license plate.
No wonder he isn’t getting hired!
I can’t wait to see somebody get OGSMASH or GOTCHAYA on their plate.
I saw “shidapnz” on a toyota while on the beltline… I thought that was worth mentioning.
My sister spied a red Bug (the new kind) with a plate that said GUMDROP. Y’know, when you think about it, those things really do look like gumdrops. Or jelly beans.
That rocks my socks, sciguy! Wonder if anyone in CA has taken MOXRUBY? Knowing my state, probably…
The orange is the icing on the cake.
There’s the old standby “FEATURE” found on a VW Bug.
On a Vw Bug the plate said BUGOFF, but my favorite said simply SSA…it took me a minute then I saw it was ass backwards. I thought that was pretty good.
My friends dad had a plate which simply said “42”. I want one.
I wanted to get one for my wife that said “EQWIDOW”.
