Funny looking dinosaur: mouth like a vacuum cleaner

I think this looks like a cartoon dinosaur. Especially the third picture.

Cool. Some more company for hadrosaurs on the weird noggin list.

So when is spealberg making a movie with this one in it?

So … does that make him a Dysonsaur?

Considering that Cecil started off as a dinosaur, I think that interest is surprisingly lacking here.

Nigersaurus

Oh man, at first I misread that and. . . oh boy.

It looks like that air hand drier that that British vacuum guy is plugging on commercials.

“I just think that dinosaurs should eat properly.”

Hey, they got that wrong. Cecil was a sea-serpent, not a dinosaur. A seasick sea serpent.

I’m old. I was there.

“I’M COMIN’, BEANY-BOY!!”

That sounds very vaguely creepy now.

I know they got it wrong, but what’s the difference? Sea-serpent/dinosaur…they’re all the same.

I wasn’t “there.” I just watch my father’s video tapes.

I want to know where the blazes this thing fits taxonomically.

In vertebrates, my understanding is that dentition tends to be among the more conservative traits through genera and families. So, here we’ve got a sauropod with a dentition scheme that I’ve never heard about - for land based critters at least: nine rows of replacement teeth? That sounds like shark teeth, really. Nothing I’ve ever heard of for dinosaurs.

So, how does it fit in with other dinosaurs? Where would it fit? Or is my very limited knowledge of sauropod dentition tripping me up, again?

Shoulda named him Kirby. My Mom had one looked just like that skull shot.
