Funny political moments

Rule: They have to be actual political moments. No political comedy including speeches by politicians which are primarily comedy like the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Here are a couple I like:
Bill Clinton’s 1988 convention speech especially the moment when he says “In closing…” and the crowd roars its approval. I would feel sorry for him except I heard his career turned out all right.

Obama’s zinger at the 2015 SOTU.

“Please proceed, governor” and “horses and bayonets” were pretty good too.

The passing of the Habeas Corpus Act in 1679:

Lord Grey and Lord Norris were named to be the tellers: Lord Norris, being a man subject to vapours, was not at all times attentive to what he was doing: so, a very fat lord coming in, Lord Grey counted him as ten , as a jest at first: but seeing Lord Norris had not observed it, he went on with this misreckoning of ten: so it was reported that they that were for the Bill were in the majority, though indeed it went for the other side: and by this means the Bill passed.
