Is there any difference? How about Frank Lloyd Wright “Prairie” style? Is that the same or how is that different?
I’m trying to educate myself a little so I know what to ask for at the furniture store. I know what I like, but not what it’s called.

The arts and crafts movement encompasses a wider range of style and arguably mission style pieces could be included. A&C had an emphasis on craftsmanship and functionality that was lost by industrialization. Instead of trying to hide jointery with veneers and upholstery it was incorporated into the design. Think of through tenons with pyramid ends and ebony plugs to hold the joint in place rather than blind tenons to make the joint invisible.
a very bieif overview of the arts & crafts style may be found here. I would suggest you go to the library and look up books about Morris and the Stickleys, mentioned in the referenced article. It’s really interesting stuff.
