Further headlines that could have used a little work

Parliament back, with same-sex topping agenda

Same-sex topping? You mean we finally get to see how Peter Mackay is Stephen Harper’s little bitch?

(I may also have mentioned one from the Concordia student newspaper some time ago, complaining about how yet another man had been appointed to a leadership position despite the administration’s commitment to hire more women: VICE-RECTOR SERVICES ANOTHER MALE.)

Is that some uniquely Canadian flavour, like maple syrup?

Yep - saw that at lunch the other day. My buddy wouldn’t believe me, so I spent a bunch of time waving at the tv “Look now! Look now! See!”

Headline of TV show review, from yesterday’s Wichita Eagle:

‘Blind Justice’ a big hit with blind viewers

From the Tuesday Science section of the NY Times a while back: “Chinese grow healthier from cradle to grave” (I can’t swear that’s perfect but that’s the idea).

Not quite the same thing, but the early edition of the Times on 5/21/91 had a picture with a caption very much like: “Rajiv Gandhi voting in yesterday’s elections in India, which were marred by violence”.

Never saw it myself, but I read about one headline that said:
